LACE
This is the perfect basket for storing
your current yarn project, because you
can draw the top closed and out of
sight or leave it open to show off your
work in progress. Sides are crocheted
while holding 4 strands of regular basic
yarn together, while the top half is two
strands of soft, furry luxury yarn.
Basket measures 12" in diameter x 14"
tall (30.5 cm x 35.5 cm) with open top.
Notes
1. Basket is worked in joined rounds
with right facing. Work joining slip
stitching tightly.
2. Bottom and Side are worked with 4
strands held together. Work slowly to
carefully pull all strands through each
stitch. Top is worked with 2 strands
held together.
3. When instructed to work into a stitch
or space "2 rounds below", work into
the round numbered 2 less than the
current row. For example, if you are
working Round 4, a stitch "2 rounds
below" is Round 4 – 2 = Round 2.
4. Optional: When working between
post stitches of Side, turn even-
numbered rows to outer side to easily
see where to insert the hook.
5. To change color, work last stitch of
old color to last yarn over. Yarn over
with new color and draw through all
loops on hook to complete stitch.
Proceed with new color. Cut old color.
Special Stitch
Fptr (Front post treble crochet) =
[Yarn over] twice, insert hook from front
side of work to back and to front again
around post of indicated stitch 2 rounds
below; yarn over and pull up a loop (4
loops on hook), [yarn over and draw
through 2 loops] 3 times.
