ENGLISH O P E R AT I O N Batteries To install or replace batteries: 1. Remove belt clip by releasing belt clip latch and sliding clip down. 2. Pull down on the Battery Latch to remove the battery compartment cover. 3. Insert four (4) AAA batteries. (Always use high quality alkaline batteries.) Position batteries according to Belt Clip polarity markings. 4. Replace Battery Compartment cover and belt clip. Your microTALK® is now in Standby mode, ready to receive transmissions.
ENGLISH O P E R AT I O N Talking to Another Person 1. Press and hold the TALK button. TALK Button 2. With the microphone about two (2) inches (5 cm) from your mouth, speak in a normal voice. 3. O P E R AT I O N • A D VA N C E D F E AT U R E S Programming Memory Locations Your microTALK radio has ten (10) memory locations (0-9) for storing your most frequently used channels and privacy codes. To program locations: 1. Push the MODE button until the Memory icon and MODE the memory Button location flashes. 2. O P E R AT I O N Using the Scan Function (continued) To scan privacy codes: 1. While in Standby mode, press the CHANNEL SELECT button up or down to choose the main channel you wish to scan. 2. Press the MODE MODE button until the Button Scan icon and the privacy code number flashes. 3. Push the CHANNEL SELECT button up or down and the radio will begin scanning privacy codes within the main channel you selected. 4.
ENGLISH O P E R AT I O N ENGLISH O P E R AT I O N Keystroke Tones 10 Call Tone Settings High/Low Power microTALK® Range With Keystroke Tones turned On, your radio will sound beeps each time you press a button or change a setting. To change Keystroke Tones: 1. Press the MODE button until the Keystroke Tones icon flashes on the LCD. The current On or Off setting is displayed. You can choose between ten (10) different call tone settings to transmit a unique call alert.
