Figure 5. Rack Installation

Place the multiplexer on a flat surface or install it in a 19-inch (48.26 cm) equipment rack.

To install in an equipment rack:

1. Remove the four feet (A) beneath the unit.

2. Remove and discard the four flat-head screws (B).

3. Attach the rack ears (C) with supplied 4-40 x .375-inch screws (D). Only the two

bottom holes on the rack ears are needed.

4. Install the multiplexer with the four supplied 10-32 x .750-inch screws.

INSTALLATION

Unpack and inspect all parts carefully. The following parts are supplied:

1 MX4000 Series multiplexer

1 Rack ear kit

2 Rack ears

4 4-40 x .375-inch pan head screws

4 10-32 x .750-inch pan head screws

1 Power cord

1 6-foot (1.8 m) data cable with RJ-45 connectors

MOUNTING

NOTE:

You will need to

locate the multiplexer near

an electrical outlet in order

to initialize the unit (refer to

step 9,

Powering the Multi-

plexer

). Mounting it in a rack

may make this difficult.
