Installation Instructions

Step 1: Cut and place
post cover
• Make sure post cover is of the desired length before removing the tape.
Cut if necessary.
• Open post cover and set in place.
• Apply wood glue on both edges of post cover (fig. 2).
• Close post cover and hold in place with masking tape (fig. 3). Apply
several strips over the entire length of post cover to ensure it is well
closed and glue dries properly. Wipe off excess glue.
Step 2: Solidify post cover
• Drill two 5/16’’ (8mm) holes at a distance of around 3⁄4’’ (20mm) from the
edge on both opposite sides, at the top and bottom of post cover
(4 holes total) (fig.4).
• Level post cover and mark the floor and ceiling for reference.
• While maintaining post cover on marks previously traced, temporarily
secure post cover with masking tape or finishing nails.
• Apply expanding foam into the four holes drilled in post cover. Let foam
harden according to product instructions (fig. 5).
• Once foam has hardened and glue has dried, remove masking tape and
adhesive strip holding the two halves of post cover together. Sand lightly
to remove excess glue.
Step 3: Install mouldings
LOWER MOULDINGS (BASE MOULDING) (not included for Shaker)
• Lay mouldings flat backwards, all pieces, on a strip of masking tape.
This will simplify installation on post cover. Apply glue between each
moulding (fig.6).
• Wrap mouldings around post cover. Wipe off excess glue. Remove
masking tape only after glue has dried. Sand lightly to remove excess
glue (fig. 7).
UPPER MOULDINGS (CROWN) (not included for Shaker)
• To simplify installation of upper mouldings, pre-drill each piece to insert
finishing nails.
• Apply glue on moulding surfaces in contact with post cover and between
each moulding.
• Secure mouldings to ceiling with finishing nails. Wipe off excess glue and
let dry (fig. 8).
Step 4: Finish
• If necessary, cover holes and imperfections with an appropriate filler and
sand until smooth.
• For the MDF model, we suggest applying a coat of primer before painting.
• For the oak veneer model, you may apply stain and varnish.
Follow product instructions.
• For the Shaker install the molding finition (included) at 11” from the top
and complete with a crown and molding of your choice.
