LATCH Lower Anchor Belt must be properly routed through the red
belt path channel. DO NOT route LATCH belt below red belt path
channel.

Position the lower anchor belt into the red belt path channel (fig. e).
NOTE: The lower anchor belt will roll or fold over and will not lay
flat in the belt channel. This is normal and will not affect
performance.

Connect LATCH hook-on connectors to vehicle lower anchors.
- With hook-on connector opening facing down, position the opening
of the connector over the vehicle lower anchor. Push down and then
pull out on the connector to lock it onto the vehicle anchor
(fig. f). You should hear a click.
- Pull on connector to be sure it is locked onto the anchor.
- Repeat for connector on opposite side.
NOTE: To lengthen the lower anchor belt, tip the lower anchor
belt adjuster and pull the lower anchor belt back through
the adjuster (fig. g).

Tighten the lower anchor belt to remove all slack by pulling on free end
of lower anchor belt (fig. h).
Rotate the seat into the forward-facing use position for tightening.
See “Changing Car Seat Use Position” Section.
Tighten lower anchor belt to secure car seat.
Place knee on car seat. While pressing down in center of car seat,
to compress the vehicle seat cushion, pull on free end of the lower
anchor belt to tighten lower anchor belt (fig. j). Rocking the car seat
from side to side will assist in getting the LATCH belt tightly adjusted.
Locate the tether anchor for the seating location being used.
NOTE: Check vehicle owners manual for tether anchor location.
DO NOT use cargo tie downs or other attachment points
not intended for use with car seats.
Attach tether hook (A) to vehicle top tether anchor hardware (B) (fig. k)
and pull strap to tighten top tether strap removing any slack. Check that
the tether strap is not twisted and tighten the tether strap to remove all
slack.
NOTE: 1. To lengthen the tether strap, tip the tether belt adjuster and
pull the tether strap back through the adjuster.
2. If top tether anchor (B) is not available in vehicle, see vehicle
owner’s manual or Top Tether Information in “Selecting A
Vehicle Seating Location” section.
3. Tether strap should always be used when a tether anchor is
available. The top tether is used for both rear-facing and
forward-facing use.
