Complete Head CC Kit
Thank you for choosing COMP Cams® products; we are proud to be your manufacturer of choice.
Please read this instruction sheet carefully before beginning installation, and also take a moment to
review the included limited warranty information.
Procedure Instructions:
1. Select and mix your fluids – there are several fluids you may use with your cc kit. However, we
recommend a half and half mix of water and alcohol with a few drops of dye or food coloring
to make the fluid more visible.
2. Fill buret or flask – note the exact amount of fluid. It is easiest to start with exactly 100cc’s.
3. Install the correct spark plugs and valves – if the heads do not have the springs installed, use a
little grease around the valve seat to seal the valves.
4. Position and secure the head in a horizontal position – we offer both aluminum (Part #5331)
and steel (Part #5332) V-style head holders to make this job easier.
5. Lightly grease the head surface – it is not necessary to grease the entire head, only the area
where the acrylic plate will seal.
6. Press the acrylic sealing plate against the head – make sure that the plate is securely sealed all
the way around the chamber.
Note: On some heads the valve or valves will be above the head deck surface, making it
impossible for the plate to seal against the head. This problem can be resolved by
carefully grinding a small slot in the acrylic plate large enough to clear the valve.
7. Slowly fill the chamber – fill the chamber through the hole in the plate. Be careful not to spill.
Fill the chamber to the bottom of the fill hole and make sure no air bubbles are present.
8. Determine the amount of fluid missing from your buret or flask – on the burets, the fluid level
will read exactly how much fluid was used. With the graduated flask, subtract the ending
volume from the starting volume. The difference is the amount of fluid required to fill the head
chamber.
Note: Due to the fragile nature of this product, damage may occur in shipping. Products
damaged in transit are the sole responsibility of the shipper, and all claims must be made
to their customer service department.
