•Problem:YouhearanoisefromthedrivewhentheCD,DVD,orCD-RWdiscisspinning.
Solution:Ifthediscisnotcorrectlyloadedonthecenterpivotofthedrive,itmightrubagainstthedrive
coverandmakeanoise.Ensurethatthediscisloadedcorrectlyinthedrive.
•Problem:Thetraydoesnotopenevenifyoupresstheejectbutton.
Solution:Whenyourcomputerisnotturnedon,pressingtheejectbuttondoesnotcausethedrivetray
toopen.Ensurethatthecomputeristurnedonandthatthedriveconnectorisrmlyconnectedtothe
computer.
Ifthetraystilldoesnotopen,ensurethatthecomputerisrunning,andinserttheendofastraightened
paperclipintotheemergencyejecthole.Thetraywillopen.
•Problem:Anopticalmedium,suchasaCD,DVD,orCD-RWdisccannotberead.
Solution:EnsurethattheCD,DVD,orCD-RWdiscisnotdirty.Ifitis,cleanitwithacleanerkit.
TestanotherCD,DVD,orCD-RWdisc.Ifthecomputercanreadtheotherdisc,therstdiscmightbe
defective.
Ensurethatthediscisloadedonthecenterpivotofthedrivewiththelabelsideup.(Youshouldheara
click.)
Ensurethatthediscisinoneofthefollowingformats:
–MusicCD
–CD-ROMorCD-ROMXA
–MultisessionphotoCD
–VideoCD
–DVD-ROM(DVD-video)
•Problem:ThecomputercannotplayaCD,orthesoundqualityisnotgood.
Solution:Ensurethatthediscmeetsthestandardsforyourcountry.Usually,adiscthatmeetsthelocal
standardsismarkedwithaCDlogoonthelabel.Ifyouuseadiscthatdoesnotmeetthesestandards,we
cannotguaranteethatitwillplay,orthat,ifitdoesplay,thesoundqualitywillbegood.
•Problem:TheHDDVDtabintheWinDVD8programisdimmedandIcannotuseit.
Solution:YourcomputerdoesnotsupportanHDDVDdrive.
Asoftwareproblem
Problem:Anapplicationdoesnotruncorrectly.
Solution:Ensurethattheproblemisnotbeingcausedbytheapplication.
Checkthatyourcomputerhastheminimumrequiredmemorytoruntheapplication.Refertothemanuals
suppliedwiththeapplication.
