smoothmotion.Donotliftyourfingerwhenyouareswipingit.
Tipsonusingthefingerprintreader
•Thefollowingactionscoulddamagethefingerprintreaderorcauseittomalfunction:
–Scratchingthesurfaceofthereaderwithahardandpointedobject
–Scrapingthesurfaceofthereaderwithyourfingernailoranythinghard
–Usingortouchingthereaderwithadirtyfinger
•Youmightnotbeabletoregisterorauthenticateyourfingerprintsinthefollowingsituations:
–Yourfingeriswrinkled.
–Yourfingerisrough,dry,orinjured.
–Yourfingerisstainedwithdirt,mud,oroil.
–Yourfingeriswet.
–Youusedafingerthathadnotbeenenrolled.
Toresolvetheproblem,trythefollowing:
–Cleanorwipeyourhandstoremoveanyexcessdirtormoisturefromthefingers.
–Enrollanduseadifferentfingerforauthentication.
–Ifyourhandsaredry,applylotiontothem.
•Ifyounoticeanyofthefollowingconditions,gentlycleanthesurfaceofthereaderwithadry,soft,
andlint-freecloth:
–Thesurfaceofthereaderisdirtyorstained.
–Thesurfaceofthereaderiswet.
–Thereaderoftenfailstoenrollorauthenticateyourfingerprint.
Usingpasswords
Youcansetasupervisorpasswordtopreventyourtabletfromunauthorizeduse.
SupervisorpasswordprotectsthesysteminformationstoredinThinkPadTabletSetup.Withoutthe
supervisorpassword,noonecanchangetheconfigurationofthetablet.
