6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationtomakesurethatthemonitortypeiscorrect.
Ifthemonitortypeiscorrect,clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwiseproceedwiththefollowingsteps.
1.Ifmorethantwomonitortypesaredisplayed,selectGenericPnPMonitororGenericNon-PnP
Monitor.
2.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconfirmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconfirmation.
3.ClicktheDrivertab.
4.ClickUpdateDriver.
5.ClickBrowsemycomputerfordriversoftware,andthenclickLetmepickfromalistofdevice
driversonmycomputer.
6.CleartheShowcompatiblehardwarecheckbox.
7.Selectthecorrectmanufacturerandmodelfortheexternalmonitor.Ifyoucannotfindyourmonitor
onthelist,stoptheinstallationofthisdriverandusethedrivershippedwithyourmonitor.
8.Afterupdatingthedriver,clickClose.
9.FortheWindows7operatingsystem,tochangethecolorsettings,right-clickonthedesktop,and
clickScreenresolution.ClickAdvancedsettings,selecttheMonitortab,thensetColors.
10.ClickOK.
•Problem:Incorrectcharactersaredisplayedonthescreen.
Solution:Didyouinstalltheoperatingsystemorprogramcorrectly?Iftheyareinstalledandconfigured
correctly,havethecomputerserviced.
•Problem:Thescreenstaysonevenafteryouturnoffyourcomputer.
Solution:Pressandholdthepowerbuttonforfoursecondsormoretoturnoffyourcomputer;then
turnitonagain.
•Problem:Missing,discolored,orbrightdotsappearonthescreeneverytimeyouturnonyourcomputer.
Solution:ThisisanintrinsiccharacteristicoftheTFTtechnology.Yourcomputerdisplaycontains
multiplethin-filmtransistors(TFTs).Asmallnumberofmissing,discolored,orbrightdotsonthescreen
mightexistallthetime.
•Problem:MyscreenkeepsblankingwhenIdonotwantitto.
Solution:IfyourcomputerispreinstalledwiththeWindows7operatingsystem,youcandisableany
systemtimers,suchastheLCDturn-offtimerortheblanktimerbydoingthefollowing:
1.StartPowerManager.
2.ClickthePowerplantab,andthenselectMaximumPerformancefromthepredefinedpowerplans.
IfyourcomputerispreinstalledwiththeWindows10operatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.GotoControlPanel,andensurethatyouviewControlPanelbyCategory.
2.ClickHardwareandSound➙PowerOptions➙Highperformance.
3.Showtheadditionalplans,thenchooseHighperformance.
•Problem:WhenIturnonthecomputer,nothingisdisplayedonthescreenandthecomputerdoesnot
beepwhilestartingup.
