1. Introduction

Compex’s PS2208B is a Fast Ethernet Desktop Switch ideal for small and

home office networks. It comes with 8 10/100Mbps ports capable of full or

half duplex transmission with flow control. In addition, PS2208B supports

full auto-negotiation that self-configures for the highest possible operation

mode between two nodes. Unlike Hubs or Repeaters of which the 100Mbps

bandwidth is shared among the ports, PS2208B is designed with a backplane

of 1.6Gbps, allowing all 8 nodes to perform at full performance. Moreover,

PS2208B forwards the incoming packets only to the related ports, avoiding

collisions commonly seen in a Hub or Repeater.

1 Power LED On indicates switch is receiving power.

2 Port LED Steady Amber: 10M Link

Blink Amber: 10M Activity

Steady Green: 100M Link

Blink Green: 100M Activity

3 8 RJ-45 Ports 8 UTP ports

4 FLW/Ctrl LED Not in used.

5 DC Power Jack Supply power from the adapter to the unit
