Options Key
Method:
Allows you to select the method used to acquire alignment data.
The available methods are 4 Point Auto, 4 Point Manual, Auto Sweep,
Manual Sweep, Dual Pass, and Straightness. Additional information is
available under “Alignment Data” on page 5-25 and
“Data Collection
Methods - Overview” on page 6-1.
ACQ Mode/Sample Rate/Target Window:
Allows you to select how
the chosen method acquires alignment data. Refer to “Alignment Data” on
page 5-25 and “Data Collection Methods - Overview” on page 6-1 for more
details.
Tolerances:
Determines how tolerance are displayed:
Angle/Offset (formally Standard) = Offset vs Angle
Jackshaft = Left Angle vs Right Angle (recommended for span
(C dimension) > 20 inches)
Refer to “Tolerances” on page 5-30 for more information.
Thermal Growth:
(Yes/No) Turns on additional screens in Job Definition
for the input of Thermal Growth data. Refer to “Thermal Growth, Vertical”
on page 5-20 and “Thermal Growth, Horizontal” on page 5-21 for more
information.
Foot Pre-Check:
Allows you to check whether or not there is movement
at the coupling when a bolt or other fastener (at the foot of the machine) is
loosened. Choose between Soft Foot or FDI (Frame Distortion Index).

Quick Spec:
(Yes/No) Allows you to make a quick inspection of the align-
ment condition of a machine with minimal setup and effort. If a machine is
found to have unacceptable alignment, the procedure can be readily con-
verted to a full alignment procedure and machine moves calculated. See
“Quick Spec” on page 6-33 for additional information.
