INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially
when children are present, basic safety precau-
tions should always be followed, including the

cally live even when the switch is off. To reduce
the risk of death or injury by electric shock:
1. Always unplug appliance immediately after us-
ing.
2. Do not use while bathing or in a shower.
3. Do not place or store appliance where it can
fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place in, or drop into, water or other
liquid.
5. If an appliance falls into water, unplug it im-
mediately. Do not reach into the water.
WARNING – To reduce the risk of

1. This appliance should never be left unat-
tended when plugged in.
2. This appliance should not be used by, on, or
near children or by individuals with certain dis-
abilities.
3. Use this appliance only for its intended use
as described in this manual. Do not
use attachments not recommended by the

4. Never operate this appliance if it has a
damaged cord or plug, if it is not working
properly, if it has been dropped, damaged,
or dropped into water. Return the appliance
to a Conair service center for examination
and repair.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
Do not pull, twist, or wrap line cord around
dryer, even during storage.
6. Never block the air openings of the appliance
or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or
couch, where the air openings may be blocked.
Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and the
like.
7. Never use while sleeping.
8. Never drop or insert any object into any open-
ing or hose.
9. Do not use outdoors or operate where aero-
sol (spray) products are being used or where
oxygen is being administered.
10. Do not use an extension cord to operate
dryer.
11. Do not direct hot air toward eyes or other
heat-sensitive areas.
12. Attachments may be hot during use.
Allow them to cool before handling.
13. Do not place appliance on any surface while
it is operating.
14. While using the appliance, keep your hair
out of it. Keep your hair away from the air
inlets.
15. Do not use with voltage converter.

INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for household use
only. Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only.
Standard Dryers are designed to operate at 110
to 125 volts A.C.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this
plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse
the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety
feature.
IMPORTANT
1875 WATT OPERATING GUIDE
Use of this dryer on the same circuit or fuse with
other electrical products or appliances may trip
a 15 amp circuit breaker or blow a 15 amp fuse.
NEVER replace the fuse with one rated high-
er than the capacity of the circuit. Doing so
could result in an electrical fire.
1. Pull cord out slowly from dryer. Stop pulling
when you see the red mark. Do not jerk cord.
2. Plug in dryer, then turn on heat/speed switch.
3. To retract cord, hold dryer vertically upright
and away from your face. Grasp the plug with
one hand, then press and hold the retract but-
ton with the other. Guide the cord and keep it
from twisting. If the cord does not retract com-
pletely, pull it out slightly and wind it again guid-
ing it into the reel. DO NOT RETRACT CORD
WHILE DRYER IS PLUGGED IN. DO NOT ALLOW
SMALL CHILDREN TO HANDLE THE RETRAC-
TIVE POWER CORD AS THIS MAY CAUSE THE
CORD TO “WHIP” AND CAUSE INJURY.
CHECK ALCI SAFETY FEATURE EVERY
TIME YOU USE APPLIANCE.
This appliance is equipped with an Appliance
Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a safety fea-
ture that renders it inoperable under some
abnormal conditions, such as immersion in
water. To make sure the ALCI is functioning
properly, perform the following test. The purpose
of this test is to allow you to make sure the
water sensing system (ALCI) is working.
1. Plug in the appliance and press test button
on plug (See appropriate diagram below).
2. The appliance will stop working. There will
be an audible click and reset button will pop
out.
3. To reset ALCI with a reset button, unit should
be unplugged. Then push reset button in, and
reinsert plug into outlet.
4. If ALCI is not functioning properly, return
appliance to nearest service center.
5. It is important that if immersion occurs, this
unit be brought to a service center. Do not try
to reset.
6. Be sure to repeat test every time you use the
unit to confirm ALCI is operational.
Should the appliance go off and the reset button
pop up during use, this could indicate a
malfunction in the unit. Remove plug from
outlet and allow the appliance to cool. Reinsert
plug into outlet.
The appliance should then function normally. If
not, return to an authorized Conair Service Cen-
ter for evaluation and repair.
SUPER STYLING GUIDE
Your best looks begin with a good haircut that’s
well maintained. Always treat hair right with
superior quality shampoos, conditioners, and
finishing products.
DRYING BASICS
1. Shampoo and condition hair with products of
your choice. Rinse thoroughly. Towel dry hair to
remove excess moisture. Using the dryer along
with your styling brush, start at a lower setting
and direct hot air through a section of hair at a
time. Move dryer steadily across each section
so that the hot air passes through hair. Direct
air flow at hair not scalp. Clouds of negatively
charged ions will help to reduce static electric-
ity, control frizzy flyaways and contribute to your
hair’s shine.
2. Keep dryer’s air intake vents unobstructed
and free from hair while drying.
3. To avoid over drying, do not concentrate heat
on any one section for any length of time. Keep
dryer moving as you style.
4. For quick touch ups, between shampoos,
dampen hair with a mist of water before styling
with the dryer.
5. When using your dryer to create curls and
waves, dry hair almost completely on a warmer
temperature setting, then finish styling with
Cool Shot feature to close hair shaft and lock
in style.

Este aparato fue diseñado para uso profesional.
Úselo solamente con Corriente Alterna (60
hertzios). Los secadores estándares están
diseñados para funcionar con Corriente Alterna
de 110 a 125 voltios.
Este aparato tiene una clavija polarizada (un
polo es más ancho que otro). Como medida de
seguridad, se podrá enchufar de una sola manera
en la toma de corriente polarizada. Si no entra
por completo, inviértela. Si aún no entra
completamente, llame a un electricista calificado.
No intente vencer esta función de seguridad.

GUÍA DE OPERACIÓN PARA EL
SECADOR DE 1875 VATIOS
Usar este aparato en el mismo circuito o en el
mismo fusible con otros aparatos o
electrodomésticos puede activar el interruptor
de circuito de 15 amp. o quemar un fusible de
15 amp. NUNCA reemplace el fusible por uno de
mayor capacidad que la del circuito, ya que hacerlo
podría producir un incendio eléctrico.
CÓMO USAR EL CABLE RETRÁCTIL
1. Jale el cable cuidadosamente. Deje de jalar
cuando vea la marca roja. No jale el cable con
fuerza.
2. Enchufe el aparato, luego escoja la temperatura
y la velocidad deseadas.
3. Para guardar el cable: mantenga el aparato
recto, lejos del rostro. Coja la clavija en una mano
y mantenga oprimido el botón para guardar el
cable con la otra mano. Oriente el cable de tal
forma que no se tuerza. Si el cable no se retrae
completamente, jálelo un poco y vuelva a enrollarlo,
guiándolo en el sistema de enrollado. NO GUARDE
EL CABLE MIENTRAS EL SECADOR ESTÁ
CONECTADO TODAVÍA. NO DEJE QUE LOS
NIÑOS MANIPULEN EL CABLE O EL SISTEMA
DE ENROLLADO. ESTO PODRÍA PROVOCAR
HERRIDAS.
PRUEBE EL CORTACIRCUITO DE SEGURIDAD
ANTES DE CADA USO
Este aparato está dotado de un cortacircuito
de seguridad llamado ALCI (Appliance Leakage
Circuit Interrupter), el cual apaga el secador
en caso de que ocurran situaciones anormales,
por ejemplo si el aparato caiga al agua. Haga
la prueba siguiente para asegurarse que el
sistema de detección de agua funcione
correctamente.
1. Enchufe el aparato y apriete el botón de
prueba (véase el gráfico más abajo).
2. El aparato dejará de funcionar, se oirá un
clic y el botón de reajuste saltará.
3. Para reajustar el enchufe, asegúrese que el
aparato esté desenchufado, luego apriete el botón
de reajuste y vuelva a enchufar el aparato.
4. En caso de que el cortacircuito de
seguridad no esté funcionando correctamente,
lleve su aparato adonde lo ha comprado o
a un centro de servicio autorizado.
5. Si el aparato cae al agua, es muy importante
que lo lleve a un centro de servicio. No intente
reajustarlo.
6. Pruebe el cortacircuito de seguridad antes de
cada uso para - que esté operativo.
Si el secador se apagara y el enchufe saltara
durante el uso, esto podría indicar un mal
funcionamiento. En tal caso, desenchufe el
aparato y déjelo enfriar, luego vuelva a enchufarlo.
El aparato debería funcionar normalmente. En
el caso contrario, llévelo a un centro de servicio
autorizado para que lo revisen y lo reparen.
GUÍA PARA UN SÚPER MODELADO
La mejor apariencia empieza por un recorte de
cabello bien mantenido. Siempre cuide su cabello
con champúes, acondicionadores y productos de
acabado de calidad superior.
FUNDAMENTOS DEL SECADO
1. Lave y acondicione su cabello con los productos
de su elección. Enjuáguelo bien. Séquelo con
una toalla para eliminar el exceso de agua. Divida
el cabello en secciones. Usando el secador y
un cepillo de modelado simultáneamente, dirija
el flujo de aire caliente hacia cada sección. Mueva
el cepillo y el secador simultáneamente hacia
las puntas, lentamente y uniformemente, dirigiendo
el flujo de aire hacia el cabello, no hacia el cuero
