INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
SURFACE MOUNT VENTS
Face On Vents & Surface Vents – Used where surface mount venting is needed or to cover open-
ings where original installed vents have deteriorated. These vents are ideal for use where traditional
framing members (studs) are 16" on center.

1. Opening measurements must be at least 1 inch smaller than the vent size.
2. Remove old vent and any loose debris from opening.
3. Apply a bead of sealant around inside of vent flange.
4. Fasten vent with nails or screws.
Face on Vent: Using the pre-punched fastener holes (6 per vent), secure vent using nails or flat head
screws, long enough to secure to studs. To reduce corrosion, use aluminum fasteners with aluminum vents
and galvanized with galvanized.
Surface Vent: Using the partial punched corner fastener guides (4 per vents), secure vent using galvanized
nails or galvanized flat head screws, long enough to secure to studs.
