2. To reduce the risk of injury, fan must be installed at least 7
feet (2.1 meters) above the floor.
3. Fan must be inspected regularly. Remove any obstructions
and clean all grease from the fan and impeller surfaces.
FFAANN IINNSSTTAALLLLAATTIIOONN
1. Rotate fan impeller by hand, ensuring it rotates freely.
2. Locate fan as close as possible to discharge point, while
still providing access to perform maintenance.
3. Ensure that mounting location can support the fan assembly.
4. Attach mounting brackets to the fan.
5. Air flow direction is indicated by arrow on the electrical box.
6. Mount fan using the brackets provided (fan may be mounted
in any oriantation, however vertical mounting is recommended
to reduce condensation build-up in the fan). Ensure that
electrical box is accessible.
7. Attach duct to inlet and outlet of fan housing using clamps
(insulated duct recommended in unheated areas).
8. Seal fan to duct using duct tape to prevent air loss.
9. Confirm that supply voltage matches motor name plate rating.
10. Make electrical connections to fan junction box.
11. These fans are suitable for use with a speed control (see
speed control wiring diagram).

1. When undertaking maintenance or service work, ensure that
electrical service to fan is locked in the “OFF” position to prevent
power from being switched on accidentally. When the service
disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely fasten a
prominent warning device such as a tag to service panel.
2. Do not re-establish power supply until maintenance or
service work has been completed.
3. Maintenance or service work must be performed by a qualified
person in accordance with all applicable codes and standards,
including local fire codes.
4. Impellers must be inspected regularly. In order to inspect
impeller, remove fan from the duct work. Remove any
obstructions and clean with damp cloth.
5. Motor bearings are factory lubricated and do not require
additional lubrication.

applicable codes and standards, including local fire codes.
5. Check that voltage matches fan motor nameplate rating.
6. Fan is intended to be hard wired to a properly rated
electrical circuit, and must be properly grounded. Do
not use an extension cord.
7. Fan motor is equipped with thermal overload protection,
which causes fan to shut off automatically if motor overheats.
If this should happen, immediately disconnect and lock
power supply to fan.

8. This unit has an unguarded impeller. Do not use in locations
readily accessible to people or animals.
9. NEVER place a switch where it can be reached from a tub
or a shower.
10. When used to exhaust moist / humid air, fans must always
be vented to the outdoors.
11. When cutting into walls or ceilings, take care to not damage
electrical wiring or other hidden utilities.
12. The combustion airflow needed for safe operation of fuel
burning equipment may be affected by this unit’s operation.
Follow the heating equipment manufacturer’s guidelines and
safety standards, such as those published by the National
Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the American Society of
Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers
(ASHRAE), and local code authorities.
