INTRODUCTION THANK YOU for choosing a Convair Air Conditioner. This appliance has been carefully engineered to bring you trouble-free personal air conditioning. Please read this manual carefully so that you take full advantage of the many benefits your Convair provides.
SAFETY General Safety Electrical Safety For indoor use only. Caution ! Check voltage: before connecting the electrical power cord to a power outlet, check that the air conditioner voltage is the same as your power supply. Transport the air conditioner in an upright position only, or leave it in an upright position for at least 2 hours before use (Fig 1). Ensure the appliance has been installed in accordance with national wiring regulations.

INSTALLING THE EXHAUST Installing the exhaust hose to the air conditioner (Fig 5). Step 1: Locate the left hand side of the exhaust hose slot into position on the rear of the air conditioner. Note! The minimum distance from the operating air conditioner to any obstructing objects or walls is 50cm (Fig 6). Step 2: Locate the right hand side of the exhaust hose into position just above the tabs on the rear of the air conditioner. Keep the exhaust hose as short and straight as possible and minimise kinks.
CONTROL PANEL Timer set button Swing Control button Press to enter the timer setting mode. Press to enable / disable air outlet louvres to sweep from side to side. _ Temperature set button Press to decrease the outlet temperature. Fan speed control button Signal Receiving Point Receives the infra red signal from the remote control. 7 Press to cycle fan speed from high to low then back to high speed. + Temperature set button Press to increase the outlet temperature.

The air conditioner will “beep” when a signal has been received. If there is no beep, press the remote button again, ensuring it is within range (6 metres) of the air conditioner.
OPERATION Note! In cooling mode, the fan will continue to run even when the compressor has cycled off (set temperature reached). Starting the air conditioner Step 1: Ensure the cooler is plugged in and switched on. Step 6: The air conditioner has 2 sets of air direction vanes. Press the SWING button on the control panel or remote control to operate the motorised vanes (the air will sweep from side to side). Press the button again to stop the sweeping vanes (Fig 12).
FUNCTIONS Timer Function - Remote Control setup 14 The air conditioner is fitted with a timer function. This can be set so that the air conditioner is operating before you wake up, or to be cooling when you get home from work, up to 24 hours in advance. To use this function, the cooler must be plugged in and ready to operate. COOL AM - OFF H Setting the OFF time (Fig 14) Step 1: With the air conditioner ON, press the TIMER button on the remote control.
FUNCTIONS How to cancel the timer Setting the time on the control (Fig 16) To cancel the timer, press the TIMER button when either the TIMER OFF or TIMER ON has been set. will disappear and the timer setting will be cancelled. Press the CLOCK Button. Then use the Hour and Min button to set the correct time. Press the CLOCK button again to set. Self check function Setting the timer at the cooler The air conditioner incorporates it’s own self diagnostics. The following table shows the code and problem.
MAINTENANCE Always disconnect the air conditioner from the electricity mains before cleaning or draining. To maximize the efficiency of the air conditioner, clean regularly. Cleaning the housing Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the body clean. Never use aggressive chemicals, spirits, detergents, chemically treated cloths or other cleansing solutions. These substances could possibly damage the cabinet. Cleaning the filter Remove the filter as shown (Fig 17A).
TROUBLESHOOTING Problem The air conditioner does not run. Check Is the air conditioner plugged in ? Is there a power failure ? Is the "WATER FULL" indicator flashing ? Drain the tank as shown (Fig 17). Is the room temperature below the set temperature ? The air conditioner has little effect (firstly ensure that the room being cooled is not too large for the stated capacity of the air conditioner). Is there direct sunshine? Remember to close curtains or blinds.
