STEPS FOR START-UP & COMMISSIONING

Switch on the chilled water pump.
Ensure the water-flow is as per design data.
Ensure that the flow-switches are functioning properly.
Switch on the AHUs to create load.
Check motorized valves operation.
Open all the refrigerant circuit valves.
Ensure correct oil level in the compressor.
Attach all the required testing meters/ inspection gauges to monitor operational
parameters during the commissioning process.
Switch on the chiller.
Start and operate each compressor separately and record the amps, pressure,
temperatures in the refrigerant and water lines.
Check the compressor oil level in each compressor after one hour of operation.
Visual check and acid test of compressor oil after one hour of operation.
Repeat the process for every compressor in the chiller.
On satisfactory completion of the above, start the system for full operation.
Check the superheat.
Check the sub-cooling.
Check whether the 'leaving-water' temperature is as per design.
Check the water pressure drop across the chiller barrel (∆ P).
Check the temperature difference (water-in/ water-out) in chiller barrel (∆ T).
Simulate safety cut-outs functions and ensure its proper operation.
Ensure full load is available; if so, leave the system on for 24 hours.
Monitor and log performance, etc.

Check out report (4 pages) provided in this manual to be completed for each unit separately. A certified copy of
the check out report must be forwarded to Zamil Head Office, Dammam in order to avail the warranty.
