Choose whether or not electronic VR(vibration reduction) isused when taking still
pictures.

Electronic VR is enabled and the effects of camera shake are reduced with shooting
of still pictures when aH of the following conditions are met.
• The flash is turned off or set to sWow sync mode.
• A slow shutter speed is used.
• The Continuous setting is set to Single
• The subject is dark.
Off (default setting)
EWectronic VR is disabled.
When Auto isselected, _ isdisplayed in the monitor (l_ 6), and electronic VR is
applied according to shooting conditions.
_1_ Notes on Electronic Vibration Reduction
• Electronic VR does not function when the flash is used, except when slow sync mode is applied,
Electronic VR does not function when slow sync with red eye reduction (_ 54, 55) is used.
• Electronic VR does not function with exposures that exceed a certain length of time.
Electronic VR is activated only when ISO sensitivity (_ 42) is set to Auto.
Electronic VR does not function when Blink proof (_ 64) is set to On in smart portrait mode,
• Electronic VR does not function in the following scene mode:
Sports (_ 54)
Night portrait 1_ 54)
Dusk/dawn 1_ 55)
Night landscape 1_ 56)
Museum (_ 57)
Fireworks show (_ 58)
Backlight (_ 58)
• The effectiveness of electronic VR decreases as camera shake increases,
• The picture taken using electronic VR may be somewhat "grainy" in appearance,

To tom pensate for camera shake with movie recording, enable Electronic VR (_ 10% from the
movie menu (_ 108).
