Use this option to format the internal memory or a memory card.
Formatting the Internal Memory
To fornlat tile internal memory, remove tile memory
card fronl tile camera.
Tile Format memory option is displayed in tile setup
menu.

Formatting a Memory Card
When the memory card is inserted in the camera, the
Format card option is displayed in the setup menu.

• Formatting the internal memory or memory cards permanently deletes all data. Be sure
to transfer important pictures to a computer he.re _rmatting.
• Formatting the internal memory or memory card restores album icon settings (_ 78) to the
default setting (displayed as number).
• Do not turn the camera off, or open the battery chamber/memory card slot cover during
formatting,
• Be sure to use this camera to format memory cards previously used in other devices the first time
they are inserted into the COOLPIX 53000.
