OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
THIS UNIT IS CALIBRATED TO STANDARDS
TRACEABLE TO THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS
AND TECHNOLOGY (NIST)
TEMPERATURE RANGE:
-40° to 302°F (-40° to 150°C)
TEMPERATURE ACCURACY: ±0.3°F (±0.2°C) or
±0.5% of reading, whichever is greater
OPERATION
1) Insert probe into probe jack.
2) Turn power on by depressing the “ON / OFF” button.
3) Meter will begin monitoring temperatures.
4) Display MIN / MAX readings: The TM99A can display the
lowest and highest temperature readings seen by the probe
since the unit was powered on. Press and release the “MIN /
MAX” button. Dashes will appear, then the MIN temperature
value for a few seconds, indicated by the DOWN ARROW,
then the MAX temperature value will appear indicated by the
UP ARROW, and finally the unit will return to normal
temperature display.
5) Clear MIN / MAX memory: Press and release the “MIN /
MAX” button to display MIN / MAX values as described
above. While the MIN / MAX values are showing on the
display, press and release the “MIN / MAXbutton again.
The display will show - CLr - to indicate that the memory has
been cleared.
NOTE: MIN / MAX memory is also cleared when the unit is
powered off.
6) HOLD function: To “freeze” the current temperature
reading on the display press and release the “HOLD”
button. To return to normal temperature display, press
and release the “HOLD” button again.
NOTE: MIN / MAX memory continues to update while HOLD
is active, but the display will only show the “HOLD”
temperature.
7) Press and release the “ON / OFF” button to power off the
TM99A.
NOTE: If the AUTO SHUT-OFF feature is enabled the
TM99A will power itself off after five minutes of non-use.
FEATURES
1) Select either °F or °C: with the unit off, hold down the
“ON / OFF” button, then press and release the “HOLD” button
to toggle between °F and °C. Release the “ON / OFF” button.
The unit will use the selected temperature scale as the default.
