Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES ! WARNING: Dust created by use of this product may contain chemicals known to the State of California and medical experts to cause cancer, respiratory injuries, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are: • Compounds in fertilizers • Compounds in insecticides, herbicides and pesticides • Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber. • Commercial and household chemicals.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES When transporting (even for short distances), leaving the tool idle or unattended, or storing the hedge trimmer always carefully fit the protective blade guard over the cutting blades. Carry the hedge trimmer by the forward assist handle with the cutting blades stopped and the cutting blades facing rearward. Proper handling of the hedge trimmer will reduce the risk of injury from the cutting blades.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES Liquid ejected from the Power Cell may cause irritation or burns. If the cutting blades strike a foreign object of the hedge trimmer starts making any unusual noise or vibration, turn the switches OFF, wait for the cutting blades to stop and remove the Power Cell. Tighten any loose parts and inspect the tool for damage. Replace any damaged parts with identical replacement parts.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES SERVICE Have your hedge trimmer serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure the safety of the hedge trimmer is maintained. MAINTENANCE & STORAGE When the hedge trimmer is being stopped for servicing, inspection, transport or storage, turn the switches OFF, wait for the cutting blades to come to a complete stop and remove the Power Cell.
POWER CELL & CHARGER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS If the housing of the Power Cell breaks, cracks, swells, or is punctured immediately discontinue its use and do not recharge. NOTE: Detailed instructions are packed with the Power Cell and Charger. ! Do not charge or use the Power Cell if it has been dropped or has received a sharp blow, a heavy weight has been imposed upon it, has been overheated, or is cracked, crushed, deformed or punctured.
POWER CELL & CHARGER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ! WARNING: Leakage from the Power Cell may occur under extreme usage, charging or temperature conditions, or if the Power Cell is damaged, crushed or punctured. This leakage indicates a failure of the Power Cell and the Power Cell should be properly disposed of per local hazardous material regulations. If this leakage gets on your skin, or eyes follow these steps: 1. Wash skin immediately and thoroughly with soap and water. 2.
POWER CELL & CHARGER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Do not operate the charger if the cord or plug is damaged. Have a qualified technician replace the damaged cord and plug immediately. Use the charger only in a standard 120 V AC, 60 Hz electrical outlet. ! WARNING: Do not use the charger in wet or damp conditions. The charger is intended for indoor use only. Do not use outdoors. Do not expose to dew, rain or garden sprinklers, frost, or snow. Do not use the charger near sinks or tubs.

ASSEMBLY AND OPERATING INSTALLING THE DRIVE UNIT ON THE HEDGE TRIMMER ATTACHMENT NOTE: The Power Lok™ Drive Unit must be installed on the Hedge Trimmer Attachment. If the unit you purchased does NOT include the drive unit, one must be purchased separately. See "AVAILABLE ACCESSORIES" on Page 16. ! WARNING: Remove the Power Cell from the drive unit before installing the drive unit on the trimmer attachment. 1. Pull the locking lever (1) outward from the locking collar (2).
ASSEMBLY AND OPERATING INSTALLING THE BLADE GUARD ! WARNING: The blade guard must be installed on the hedge trimmer at all times except when the hedge trimmer is being operated. Carrying or storing the hedge trimmer without the blade guard installed may result in serious personal injury. 1. Slide the blade guard (1) over the cutting blades (2) (Fig. 3). 2. Make sure the blade guard slides fully onto the cutting blades to ensure all cutting teeth are covered (Fig. 4). Fig.

While squeezing the trigger switch, push the HI/START switch (1) forward momentarily with your thumb. At this point, the hedge trimmer will start reciprocating the cutting blades. NOTE: Once the hedge trimmer has started, release the HI/START button and the hedge trimmer will continue to run. 5. Fig. 5 To stop the hedge trimmer, release the trigger switch.

ASSEMBLY AND OPERATING INSTALLING THE POWER CELL – cont’d 2. Slide the Power Cell into the matching cavity (3) in the rear of the upper cowling (4). NOTE: Make sure you push the Power Cell fully into the cavity. The locking latch (5) will click when the Power Cell is properly installed. 3. Pull outward on the Power Cell to verify that it is being held in place by the locking latch. Fig. 6 To remove the Power Cell for recharging or storage, press the locking latch toward the Power Cell.
ASSEMBLY AND OPERATING CUTTING THE VERTICAL SIDES OF THE HEDGE To cut the vertical sides of the hedge, swing the blade upward from the bottom of the hedge in an arc (Fig. 9). Repeat the arc motion by lowering the blade to the bottom of the hedge and swinging it upward in an arc again to make the cut. Gradually move forward as the hedge is trimmed the desired amount. NOTE: Cutting the sides of a tall hedge where your arms are raised above head height is very tiring.

WARRANTY SERVICE Instructions for Obtaining Warranty Repair Service or Aftermarket Non-Warranty Repair Service: To arrange for CORE™ Outdoor Power product warranty or aftermarket repair service: 1. Before returning a non-functioning CORE™ GasLess™ tool to a CORE™ Authorized Service Center for service, please first determine if the difficulty is potentially due to: 1) a non-functional Power Cell, or 2) a non-functional Power Cell charger, or 3) a non-functional tool.
WARRANTY SERVICE The original purchaser will be able to obtain a free replacement from the local authorized dealer of a Power Cell or a Power Cell charger, if: a. b.
