Interactive Contour tool: This new interactive tool lets users create contoured objects and determine the contour
type, such as inside, outside, or middle. Users can click an object with the Contour tool activated , then drag
the mouse in the direction of their choice to create an interactive vector line The final step in t he contour is
determined by the distance dragged. Users can also adjust the number of steps by moving the slider on the
vector line.
Internet Features
Map text to HTML style: Users who work with CorelDRAW 9 text styles can achieve a clean conversion to HTML
by using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) as a layout. The HTML files produced are more accurate and ed itable,
since Corel text styles are translated into CSS, enhancing the export of Web documents.
Enhanced HTML export: Files with duplicated bitmap images will contain only one copy of the bitmap image. All
references to the bitmap image will point to the single file, reducing Web site size and enhancing the export
of Web documents.
Automatic Web link update: CorelDRAW 9 lets users update “Corel on the Web” links on a regular basis. A new
option in the Help menu, the Update command gives users the latest list of Internet links from Core l. This
list of links will include any program update information, news, and special offers and opportuniti es from
Corel.
Live hyperlinks: Users can preview the target of their hyperlinks by right-clicking an object with an associated
hyperlink. Choosing Jump To Hyperlink In Browser lets users ensure that their hyperlinks point to t he
correct location.
Web statistics page: When publishing to the Internet, users can automatically generate a statistics page by
enabling the Create Statistics Page check box in the Publish to Internet dialog box.
Compatibility and Integration Features
Support for Corel PHOTO-PAINT™ and Adobe® Photoshop® file formats: Users can externally link Corel
PHOTO-PAINT (.CPT) and Adobe Photoshop (.PSD) raster images. CorelDRAW 9 also supports external
linking of .CPT and .PSD files. Users can work with large bitmap images that are externally linked without
having to convert them to another file format.
Document Features
Save linked bitmap: Users can save linked or embedded bitmap images in CorelDRAW 9. By right-clicking a
linked or embedded bitmap image, users can extract and save it as a new file. This function streaml ines
workflow when working with bitmap images in CorelDRAW 9, and helps users recover lost files.
Enhanced page size and rotation functionality: Users can change the size and orientation of individual pages in a single
CorelDRAW document. This can be done during page insertion, by using the Layout menu, or by
right-clicking the page tabs. This feature lets users create documents that contain artwork intende d for print
or display on different media.
