Troubleshooting
Since the Labelwriter
is
extremely reliable there’s an excellent
chance you’ll never have
to
look in this section. However,
if
you
do find yourself in need of some type of troubleshooting advice,
use this section
to
correct the problem.

gently
back
out of the printer through the feed

IRQ
settings
Computers send data
to
a device through the use of an address,
much in the same way a postman delivers a letter to your home
using your street address.
If
you want
to
send mail from your
home, you put the mail in your mailbox and raise the red flag. The
postman sees the red flag and picks up your mail. The computer
does the same thing with a flag called IRQ (Interrupt Request).
When the computer sees an IRQ,
it
goes
to
the device that
sent the IRQ and retrieves the data. Below
is
a
list
of the address-
es and IRQ’s used by IBM PC-compatible computers:
Bar codes printed on XL
or XL Plus are not scanning
consistently.
The Labelwriter XL and
XL
Plus can be set through their
Windows print drivers to print crisp, readable bar codes that
match the bar code quality that comes standard in the BC and BC
Plus. In the Windows
