THE COMTRONICS STORY
ComtronICS Inc (aka Comtronics Industrial
Communication Systems) is a 35 year veteran of
the wireless business, based in Lexington KY. We
have developed a solid reputation for innovative
system design and as a reliable supplier of
headsets, radios and wireless technologies.
Our expertise spans several vertical markets,
including nuclear, public safety, energy, and
paper products manufacturing. Our customers
include many Fortune 500 companies.
ComtronICS is an authorized Motorola
2-Way Radio dealer since 1993, oering the
most experienced source for Motorola radio
communication products and services in the
central Kentucky and Cincinnati metropolitan
area. Two times we achieved the select Motostar
excellence rating and are also recognized as a
Platinum Channel Partner.
In 2003, we created our popular radio audio
accessories division, Cobalt AV, which brings you
cutting edge products. Our signature Cobalt blue
mu headsets have become an industry favorite.
Our warehouse location puts us within one or
two ground shipping days of much of central and
eastern United States.
In 2012, we opened our second oce in Florence,
KY to better serve the Cincinnati market.

ACCESS CONTROL

TWO-WAY RADIO
While we oer two-way sales, programming, installation and service, we also provide FCC licensing
consultation, complete system integration, dispatch and 911 consoles. We oer IP radio solutions as well
as P25 and digital radio systems. We specialize in providing protective clothing wireless communication.
DAS/BDA DISTRIBUTED ANTENNA SYSTEMS
(DAS) and Bi-direction antenna systems (BDA) are used to provide cellular coverage in large public facilities
such as arenas and stadiums, hospitals, oce buildings and college campuses. We specialize as system
integrators for in-building wireless installation and partner with end users, carriers and manufacturers,
and contractors. We provide a turn key project approach from concept through closing. Through project
management methodology, we create a detailed design with drawings followed by a quality installation
with strict adherence to industry standards.
TOWER SERVICES
We provide tower maintenance that includes antennas, radio heads, TTA, RET cables, lights, and cable
replacement. We provide PIM , sweep, and other testing.
OPENBTS
We oer consultation, integration, and deployment of OpentBTS. This technology has uses as an
alternative to cellular. Public safety emergency management will be keen to use OpenBTS for mobile
data, especially during cellular outages. OpenBTS is a Unix application that uses a software radio
to present a GSM Um interface to handsets and uses an SIP soft switch or PBX to connect calls. The
combination of global-standard GSM air interface with low-cost VoIP backhaul provides a new type of
cellular network that can be deployed and operated at much lower cost than existing technologies in
rural cellular deployments and private cellular networks.
