e Covidien SharpSafety Division is committed to providing real solutions for all of your sharps disposal
needs. e SharpStar™ family of containers is engineered with controls to prevent overlling and limit
accidental or intentional access to the container contents. ese containers are oered in multiple sizes from 5
quarts to 4 gallons to accommodate the increasing volume and size of
safety engineered sharps devices used today.
Disposal and Processing Recommendations:
• All non-gasket sharps disposal containers manufactured by Covidien are autoclavable.
• All trace chemotherapy, hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste must be incinerated.
• When incinerated properly, containers only give o carbon dioxide and water.
• Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are not needed for Covidien sharps disposal containers. ey contain no
heavy metals or DEHP and they are Latex Free.
