Should the workpiece be too small to safely use your hands, push pads or push
sticks should be employed as illustrated.
Rabbeting
To form a rabbet you must bring the fence forward to the required distance from
the end of the knives. Lower the infeed table for the first pass. Remove the knife
guard. Rabbeting should not be attempted in one pass. Several small passes will
result in better quality work.
Be sure to replace the guard when rabbeting is complete.
