4. Move Choke Control to =FULL° position (see equip-
ment manufacturer'sinstructions).See Figure 10.

Table 4. Priming Methods
TH(HSK)
Above 32°F (0°C) No primingrequired.
0°F to 32°F May requirepushingprimer bulb
(-18°C to O°C) firmlywith your thumb 3 times.
Below0°F (-18°C) May requirepushingprimer bulb
firmlywith your thumb 5 times.
NOTES
DO NO T useprtmer to restart a warm engine after a short
shutdown.Doing so will flood the engine and may resultin
equipment malfunction.
DO NOT operate an electric starterform.re than 5 seconds
each attempt.
6. Push starter button or tum ignitionswitchkey (see
equipmentmanufacturer's instructions)to start engine.
NOTE
ff engine fails to start after3 attempts repeat steps 5 thru 6.
7. When engine starts:
a. Release starter button or ignition switch key.
b. Move Choke Control to "1/2 CHOKE" position until
engine runs smoothly.
c. Next, move Choke Control to =NOCHOKE" position.
See Figure 10.
NOTES
If engine starts but falters when choke is moved to =NO
CHOKE" position:

a. Momentarily move Choke Control back to =FULL
CHOKE" position.
b. Next, move Choke Control to "1/2 CHOKE" position
until engine runs smoothly.
c. Finally, move Choke Control to "NO CHOKE"
position. See Figure 10.
If engine dies after Choke Control is moved to =NO
CHOKE" positionrepeat steps 5 thru 7 to restart
engine.
If engine fires but does not continue to run, move
Choke Control to "NO CHOKE" position and start
engine.
10. Ifengine fails to start after 3 attemptsin the
"NO CHOKE" position,move Choke Control to
"FULL CHOKE" positionand startengine.

When disconnecting power cord, always disconnect power
cord from outlet first; then disconnect switch box on engine.
See Figure 9.

13. Ifengine does not start after following steps 1 thru 11,
contact your Authorized Tecumseh Servicing Dealer.
14. DO NOT attempt to start or troubleshoot this engine in
any other way.
