REPLACING BATI'ERY
_CAUTION: Do not short battery
terminals by alloWinga wrench or any
other object to contact both terminals at
the same time. Before connecting battery,
remove metal bracelets, wristwatch
bands, dngs, etc.
Positive terminal must be connected _rst
to prevent sparking from accidental
grounding.
1. Lift hood to raised position.
2. Remove terminal guard.
3. Disconnect BLACK battery cable then
RED battery cable and carefully
remove batteryfrom tractor.
4. Install new battery with terminals in
same positionas old battery.
5. Reinstall terminal guard.
6. First connect RED battery cable to
positive (+) battery terminal with hex
bolt and keps nut as shown. Tighten
securely.
7, Connect BLACK grounding cable to
negative (-) battery terminal with
remaining hex bolt and keps nut.
Tighten securely
8. Close terminal access doors.
9. Close hood.

TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULB
1. Raise hood.
2. Pull bulb holder out of the hole in the
backside of the gdll.
3. Replace bulb in holder and push bulb
_r securely back into the hole in
the backside of the gdll.

INTERLOCKS AND RELAYS
Loose or damaged widng may cause )
tractorto run poorly,stoprunning,or
preventitfrom starting.
• Check widng. See electrical widng
diagram in the Repair Parts section
TO REPLACE FUSE
Replace with 30 amp automotive-type
plug-in fuse. The fuse holderis locate(
behind the dash.
TO ADJUST ATTACHMENT UFT
SPRING
1. While holding spring bushing with
wrench, loosen jam nut.
• Turn adjustment bolt clockwise to
extend spdag and reduce lift effort'
heavier attachments.
• Turn adjustment bolt countemlock_
for lighter attachments.
2. Retightenjam nut against spring
bushing.
IMPORTANT: Do not adjust for maxi
mum sprk_ tension when using light
attachments such as a mower.Adjust
lever spdng to aid in liftingattachmenl
Do not overpower spdng. When remo
ing attachment, always adjust spring
tension toits lowest position.

1. Raise hood.
2. Unsnap headlight wire connector
3. Stand in front of tractor. Grasp h_
at sides, tilt toward engine and lift
of tractor,
