DOUBLEINSULATION
Double insulationis a concept in safetyin electricpower
tools,whicheliminatesthe need for theusual_ree-wim
groundedpowercord, Allexposedmetal partsare
Isolated from the Internalmetal motor componentswith
protecting{nsu[ation.Doubleinsulatedtools do not need
to be grounded.
WARNING: The double insulatedsystemis
intended to protectthe userfrom shockresulting
froma breakin thetool'sInternal Insulation.Observe
all normarsafety precautionsto avoidelectdca{
shock.
NOTE: Servicing of a tool with doubleinsulationrequires
extremecam and knowledge of the systemand should
be performedonlyby a qualifiedservice technician.For
service,we suggestyou returnthe toolto yournearest
authorizedservicecenter forrepair.Always use original
factory replacement partswhen servicing.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
This toolhas a precision-builtelectricmotor. It shouldbe
connected to a power supply that is 120 volts, 60 Hz,
AC only (normal household current). Do not operate
this tool on directcurrent(PC). A substantialvoltagedrop
willcause a loss of powerand the motor w(lloverheat.If
yourtool does not operate when plugged Into an outlet,
double-checkthe powersupply.
EXTENSION CORDS
When usinga powertool at a considerabledistance from
a powersource,be sureto usean extensioncordthathas
the capacity to handle the currentthe toolwilt draw.An
undersizedcord will cause a drop Inline voltage,resulting
in overheatingand lossof power.Use the chart to deter~
minethe minimum wire sizerequiredinan extensioncord.
Only roundJacketedcordslisted by Underwdter'sLabora-
tories(UL.)should be used.
Whenworking outdoorswith _ too_,use _n extension c_rd
_h_t _s_ealg_ed fo_outsideuse. Th_s'oJpeofcord is des-
igneted with "WA" onthe cord's jacket.
Beforeus'=nganyextension cord,inspect it tor loose or ex-
posedwires and cut or worn Insulation.
