Your ddfl has a variable speed switchdesigned to allow
operatorcontrol of speed and torque limits.The speed
and torque ofyourdrillcan be increasedbydepressing
the switchtdgger.
Note: Depress switchtdgger all the way for maximum
speed and torque of your ddll. Depress switchtdgger
only pad:ofthe way for less speed and torque.
Avoid runningyour drillat low speeds for extended
periodsoftime, Runningat low speeds underconstant
usage may cause your ddll to become overheated. If
this occurs,coolyour ddll by running itwithouta load
and at full speed.
The following guidelinesmay be used indetermining
correctspeed for variousapplications;
III Low speed is ideal when minimumspeed and power
isrequired. Forexample: startingholes without
center punching,ddving screws, mixingpaint,and
drillinginceramics.
•ediuro speed is suitablefor ddllinghard metals,
plastics,and laminates.
High speed producesbestresults when maximum
powerisrequired. Forexample: ddlling inwood, soft
metals suchas aluminum, brass, and copper, and
when using drivingaccossodes.
WARNING: Your ddllshould never be connected
to power supplywhen you are assembling parts,
making adjustments,installingor removingddll
bits,cleaning,orwhen not in use. Disconnecting
your drillwillpreventaccidental starting that could
cause seriouspersonal injury,

Open orclose the chuckjawsto a pointwhere the
openingis slightlylarger than the ddllbityou intend
to use, Also, raisethe front of your ddll slightlyto
keepthe drillbitfrom fallingout ofthe chuckjaws.
BI Insertddllbit intochuckthe fulllength ofthejaws,
A WARNING: Do not insert drill bit intochuckjaws
and tightenas showninfigure 7. This couldcause
drillbitto be thrownfromyourdrillresultingin
possibleseriouspersonal injuryor damage to your
chuck.
Tightenthe chuckjaws on drillbit.

To tighten: graspand holdthe collarofthe chuckwith
one hand, while rotatingthe chuckbodywithyour
otherhand.
Note: Rotate the chuck bodyinthe directionofthe
arrow markedGRIP to tighten chuckjaws.
Do not use a wrenchto tightenor loosenthe chuck
jaws.
