CHECK CHAINTENSION
• Use the screwdriver end ofthe bar
toolto move chain around guidebar
to ensure kinksdo notexist. The
chain should rotate freely.

• If chain does not rotate,it is tootight.
Slightlyloosenbar clamp nutsand
turn adjustingscrew 1/4 tum counter-
clookwisa.Retightenbar clamp nuts.
• If chain is too loose,it will sag below
the guidebar. DO NOT operate the
saw if the chain is loose.
CHECK CHAIN SHARPNESS
A sharpchain makes woodchips. A
dullchain makes a sawdustpowder
and cuts slowly.
CHAINSHARPENING
Chain sharpeningrequiresspecial
tools. Youcan purchasesharpening
toolsat Sears or go to a professional
chain sharpener.

• Saw cutsto one side or at an angle
