TROUBLE
Semi-automatic
head stops
under a load or
does not turn
when switch is

CAUSE
o Crowding trimmer line
against material being
cut.
Electrical failure.
= Thrown circuit breaker
• Debris stopping head
• Line improperly
routed in head.
• Line improperly
wound onto spool.
° Incorrect line size
o Not enough line
outside of head.
° Dirt buildup
° Line size is incorrecL
= Line is being crowded
against material being
cut.
° Line improperly
routed in head.
• Spool damaged,

routed in head.

or damaged,
• Too little line outside
of head,
o Line size incorrect,
REMEDY
• Allow tip of line to do the cutting.
• Contact your Sears Service Ctr,
• Check Breaker Box,
, Remove debris,
° Check line routing.
• Rewind line tightly and evenly.
• Use only ,065 in, diameter line.
° Pull 4 inches of line outside of
head,
° Clean cutting head
• Use only .065 in. diameter line,
• Cut with tip of line fully extended,
• Check line routing.
° Replace spool.
• Check line routing.
• Use only .065 in, diameter line.
• Cut with tip of line fully extended°
° Replace Spool
• Pull 4 inches of line outside of
head,
• Use only .065 in. diameter line,
