TO START ENGINE WITH A WEAK
BATTERY (See FIG. 35)

CAUTION: Lead-acid batteries generate
explosive gases. Keep Sparks, flame and
smoking materials away from batteries.
Always wear eye protection when around
batteries+

if your battery is too weak to start the engine, it should be
recharged. If "jumper cables" are used for emergency starting
follow this procedure+
IMPORTANT: YOUR TRACTOR IS EQUIPPED WITH A t2
VOLT NEGATIVE GROUNDED SYSTEM. OTHER VEHICLE
MUST ALSO BE A 12 VOLT NEGATIVE GROUNDED
SYSTEM. DO NOT USE YOUR TRACTOR BATTERY TO
START OTHER VEHICLES.
TO ATTACH ;JUMPER CABLES +
e Push battery boot away from POSITIVE (+) terminal
e Connect RED (+) cable to POSITIVE (+) terminal on
battery, taking care not to shortagainst chassis+
e Connect BLACK (-) cable to NEGATIVE (*) terminal on
battery.
TO REMOVE CABLES, REVERSE ORDER -
e BLACK (°) cable from battery.
e RED (+) cable from battery..

TO REPLACE FUSE (See FIG. 36)
e Raise hood+
Locatefuse holder under dash°
e Remove fuse and replace with a t5 amp automotive+
type plug infuse (see REPAIR PARTS section for more
information).
TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULB
(See FIG. 37)

Raise hood. NOTE: Do not remove plastic headlight
lens when replacing headlight bulb,,
Turn headlight harness (holding butb) 1/4 turn counter-
clockwise and remove.
Pull buIb out (do not unscrew),, Push in new bulb,
Replace headlight harness and turn 1/4 turn clockwise
to lock in place.
Close hood.
INTERLOCKS AND RELAYS
Loose or damaged wiring may cause your tractor to run
poorly, stop running,or prevent it from starting°
e Chec k wiring. See electrical wiring diagram in the
REPAIR PARTS section ofthis manual
