Operating instructions
HighAltitude
At higher altitudes (over 5,000 feet), 85 octane/85AKI
(89 RON)gasoline is recommended. High-altitude usemay
require a carburetor jet kit to improve performanceand
decreasefuel consumption. Seeany Sears or qualified dealer
for more information.
Connect Hose and Water Supplyto Pump
* Damageto equipmentwill resultfrom failureto followthis
instruction.
NOTE:Removeand discard the shipping caps from the
pump's high pressure outlet and water inlet before attaching
hoses.
1. Uncoil high pressure hose and attach one end of hoseto
base of spray gun. Tighten by hand.

NEVERconnect high pressure hoseto nozzleextension.
Keep high pressure hose connectedto pump and spray gun
while system is pressurized.
Always becertain spray gun, nozzlesand accessories are
correctly attached.
Attach other end of high pressure hose to high pressure
outlet on pump. Tighten by hand.

Before connecting garden hose to water inlet, inspect
inlet screen. Clean screen if it contains debris or have it
replaced if damaged. Referto section "O-Ring
Maintenance"if inlet screen is damaged.DO NOTrun
pressurewasher if inletscreen isdamaged.
Inspect inlet
screen. DO
NOTuse if
damaged;
clean if dirty.
4. Run water through your garden hose for 30 seconds to
clean out any debris.
IMPORTANT:DO NOTsiphon standing water for the water
supply. UseONLYcold water (lessthan I O0°F).
5. Connect garden hose (not to exceed50 feet in length) to
water inlet. Tighten by hand.

6. Turn ON water and squeezetrigger on gun to purge
pump system of air and impurities.
A WARNING
Always wear safety goggles when using this equipment or in
vicinity of where equipment is in use.
Before starting the pressure washer, be sure you are wearing
adequatesafety goggles.
NEVERsubstitute safety glasses for safety goggles.
ChecMist Before Starting Enoine
Review the unit's assembly to ensure you have performed all
of the following:
1. Makesure handle is in place and secure.
2. Checkthat oil has beenadded to proper level in engine
crankcase.
3. Add proper fuel to fuel tank.
4. Checkfor properly tightenedhoseconnections (high
pressureand watersupply) andthere are no kinks, cuts,
or damageto high pressurehose.
5. Provide proper water supply (not to exceedIO0°F).
6. Be sure to read "Safety Rules" and "Operation" sections
before using pressure washer.
7. If starting unit after storage, see"Storage" section on
page21.
