WINTER STORAGE
NOTICE You must protect your unit from freezing
temperatures.
Failureto do so will permanentlydamageyour pumpand render
your unit inoperable.
Freezedamageis not coveredunderwarranty.
Draining Fuel Tank and Carburetor:
if fuel additive is not used, remove all fuel from tank and
carburetor.
o Place an approved fuel container below carburetor and
use a funnel to avoid spilling fuel,
o Remove carburetor drain bolt (A), then move fuel valve
lever to "On" position.
To preteetthe unit frem freezing temperatures:
1. Follow steps 1-4 in the previous section AfterEach Use.
2. Use pump saver, availableat Sears, item 74403, to treat
pump. This minimizes freezedamage and lubricates
pistons and seals.
3. if pump saver is not available, connect a 3-foot section
of garden hose to water inlet adapter. Pour
RV-antifreeze (antifreeze without alcohol) into hose. Puff
recoil handletwice. Disconnect 3-foot hose.
4. Store unit in a clean,dry area.
LONGTERM STORAGE
if you do not plan to use the pressurewasher for more than
30 days, you must preparethe engine and pump for long
term storage.
it is important to prevent gum deposits from forming in
essential fuel system parts such as the carburetor, fuel filter,
fuel hose or tank during storage. Also, experienceindicates
that alcoholoblendedfuels (called gasohol, ethanol or
methanol) can attract moisture, which leadsto separation
and formation of acids during storage. Acidic gas can
damagethe fuel system of an enginewhile in storage.
Protect Fuel System
Fuel Additive:
if adding a fuel additive, fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel. if
only partially tiffed, air in the tank wiii promote fuel
deterioration during storage.
o Add fuel additive following manufacturer's instructions.
o Make sure you have water supplyto pump inlet
connected and turned ON.
o Run the engine outdoors for several minutes to be sure
that treated fuel has replacedthe untreatedfuel in the
carburetor.
if fuel additive is not used, remove all fuel from tank and run
engine until it stops from lack of fuek
o After all fuel has drained into container, reinstall drain
bolt. Tighten both securely.
Change Engine Oil
While engine is sti!l warm, drain oil from crankcase. Refill
with recommended grade. See ChangingEngine OiL
Oil Cylinder gore
* Remove spark plug. Squirt about a tablespoon of clean
engine oil into the cylinder. Coverspark plug hob with
rag. Puff recoil handle slowly to distribute oik Avoid spray
from spark plug hole.
o Install spark plug. DONOTconnect spark plug wire.
