Emissions Control System Warranty Statement
(Owner's Defect Warranty Rights and Obfigations}
TheCalifornia Air Resources Board (CARD), U.S.EPAand Sears are
pleasedto explain the Emissions Control System Warranty on your
small offroad engine (SORE).In California, new small offroad
engines model year 2006 and later must be designed, built and
equipped to meet the State's stringent anti-smog standards.
Elsewherein the UnitedStates,new non-road,spark-ignition engines
certifiedfor model year 1997and later must meet similar standardsset
forth bythe U.S.EPA.Searsmust warrant the emissionscontrol
system onyour enginefor the periodsoftime listed below, provided
there hasbeenno abuse,neglector improper maintenanceof your
small off-road engine.
Your emissions control system includes parts such as the
carburetor, air cleaner, ignition system, fuel line, muffler and
catalytic converter. Also included may beconnectors and other
emissions related assemblies.
Where a warrantable condition exists, Sears will repair your small
off-road engine at no cost to you including diagnosis, parts and
labor.

Coverage
Small off-road enginesare \warrantedrelativeto emissions control
parts defects for a period of two years, subject to provisions set
forth below. If any covered part on your engine is defective,the part
will be repaired or replaced by Sears.
Owner's Warranty Responsibilities
As the small off-road engine owner, you are responsible for the
performance of the required maintenancelisted in your Operating
and Maintenance Instructions. Sears recommends that you retain all
your receiptscovering maintenance on your small off-road engine,
but Searscannot deny warranty solely for the lack of receipts or for
your failure to ensurethe performance of all scheduled maintenance.
As the small off-road engine owner, you should however be aware
that Sears may deny you warranty coverage if your small off-road
engine or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, improper
maintenanceor unapproved modifications.
You are responsible for presenting your small off-road engineto an
Authorized Sears Service Dealeras soon as a problem exists.
The undisputed warranty repairs should be completed in a
reasonable amount of time, not to exceed30 days.

Theemissions warranty is a defects warranty. Defects are judged
on normal engine performance. The warranty is not related to an in-
use emissions test.

Provisions
Thefollowing are specific provisions relativeto your Emissions
Control DefectsWarranty Coverage.It is in addition to the Sears
enginewarranty for non-regulated enginesfound in the Operatingand
MaintenanceInstructions.
1. Warranted Parts
Coverageunder this warranty extendsonly to the parts listed
below (theemissions control systems parts) to the extent these
parts were present onthe enginepurchased.
a. FuelMetering System
* Cold start enrichment system
* Carburetor and internal parts
* Fuel Pump
* Fuelline, fuel line fittings, clamps
* Fueltank, cap and tether
* Carbon canister
b. Air Induction System
* Air cleaner
* Intakemanifold
* Purge and vent line
c. Ignition System
* Spark plug(s)
* Magneto ignition system
d. Catalyst System
* Catalytic converter
* Exhaustmanifold
* Air injection system, Pulsevalve
e. MiscellaneousItems
* Vacuum, temperature, position, time sensitive valves and
switches
* Connectors and assemblies
2. Lengthof Coverage
Sears\warrantsto the initial owner and eachsubsequent
purchaser that the Warranted Parts shall befree from defects in
materials and workmanship which caused the failure of the
Warranted Partsfor a period of two years from the date the
engineis deliveredto a retail purchaser.
3. No Charge
Repair or replacementof any Warranted Part will be performed
at no charge to the owner, including diagnostic labor which
leads to the determination that a Warranted Part is defective, if
the diagnostic work is performed at an Authorized Sears
Service Dealer.
4. Claims and Coverage Exclusions
Warranty claims shall be filed in accordance with the provisions
of the Sears EngineWarranty Policy. Warranty coverage shall
be excludedfor failures of Warranted Parts which are not
original Searsparts or becauseof abuse, neglector improper
maintenanceas set forth in the SearsEngine Warranty Policy.
Searsis not liable to cover failures of Warranted Parts caused
by the useof add-on, non-original, or modified parts.
5. Maintenance
AnyWarranted Part \which is not scheduled for replacementas
required maintenanceor which is scheduled only for regular
inspection to the effect of "repair or replaceas necessary"shall
bewarranted asto defects for the warranty period. Any
Warranted Partwhich is scheduledfor replacementas required
maintenanceshall be warranted as to defectsonly for the period
of time up to the first scheduled replacementfor that part. Any
replacementpartthat is equivalent in performanceand durability
may be used in the performanceof any maintenanceor repairs.
Theowner is responsible for the performance of all required
maintenance,as defined in the SearsOperatingand Maintenance
Instructions.
6. Consequential Coverage
Coverage hereunder shall extendto the failure of any engine
components caused by the failure of any Warranted Part still
under warranty.
