• AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT - Don't use hedge trimmers in damp or wet locations. • DON'T USE IN RAIN. • KEEP CHILDREN AWAY - All visitors should be kept at a safe distance from the work area. • DRESS PROPERLY - Don't wear loose clothing or jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts. Use of rubber gloves and substantial footwear is recommended when working outdoors. Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair. • USE SAFETY GLASSES - Also use face or dust mask if operation is dusty.
• CHECK DAMAGED PARTS - before further use of the hedge trimmer, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it wilt operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other condition that may affect its operation.
O 0 Insert the phillips head screws into the openings on both sides of the handle and tighten securely(do not over tighten) as shown in figure 3. 0 , NOTE: The handle on the 79442, 51891 is adjustable to three different positions as shown figure 7. To move handle, unscrew plastic knob, position handle as desired and retighten knob. o (" t \ \ / \_/ / i/ "\ \ • For catalog number (79442, 51891) attach thehandle and insert the threaded screw through the handle and housing as shown in figure 4.
Eo]d =1-'_,._i ilI _[_ ll_:,_i_llIo,]i_o_._ TO TURN THE TOOL ON Pull the LOCK BUTTON back with your thumb and then squeeze the TRIGGER with your fingers as shown in Figure 9. (Once the tool is running you can release the LOCK BUTTON.) To turn the toot OFF, release the TRIGGER. Lock Button Trigger TO LOCK THE TOOL ON FOR CONTINUOUS RUN WITH THE TOOL RUNNING putt the LOCK BUTTON ALL THE WAY back, release the TRIGGER, then release the LOCK BUTTON. The toot is now locked ON.
5. SIDE-TRIMMING HEDGES(Figure 13) Begin at the bottom and sweep up. @ With the unit unplugged, use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the toot. Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the toot into a liquid. IMPORTANT: To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance and adjustment should be performed by Sears service centers or other qualified service personnel, always using identical replacement parts.

Para cotocar el estribo de suspension: • Corte la abrazadera plb.stica que sujeta el estribo a ta podadora. • Retire los tornittos Phillips de ambos lados de la cubierta de la podadora o de la caja. • Para los n umeros de cata.logo 79441, 51890: coloque el ensambtale ae mango/barrera en su lugar, destizb.
NOTA: El mango en el modeto 79442, 51891 se ajusta en tres posiciones diferentes, segun se muestra en la figura 7. Para mover el mango, desenrosque la periNa de plastico, coloque el mango en la posici6n deseada y vuelva a ajustar la perilla. El mango det interruptor tiene incorporado un retenedor para el cable de extensi6n, Io cual evita que ta herramienta se desenchufe.
