To ensure safe and proper operation of your tractor, all parts and hardware you assemble must be tightened securely Use the correct tools as necessary to insure proper tightnesso TOOLS REQUIRED FOR ASSEMBLY A socket wrench set will make assembly easier° Standard wrench sizes are listed.
BLY - , ° if this battery is put into service after month and year indicated on label (label located between terminals) charge battery for minimum of one hour at 6_-10amp s. First connect RED battery cable to positive (+) battery terminal with hex bolt, flat washer', lock washer and he nut as shown. Tighten securely. ° - CHECK TIRE PRESSURE • Connect BLACK grounding cable to negative (-) battery terminal with remaining hex bolt, flat washer, lock washer and hex nut. Tighten securely.
ASSEMBLY INSTALL MULCHER (See Figs. 5 and 6) - PLATE DEFLECTOR SHIELD Install two latch hooks to mulcher plate using screw, washer, lock washer, and weld nut as shown. NOTE-" Pre-assemble weld nut to latch hook by inserting weld nut from the top with hook pointing down., = ° Tighten hardware securely,, Raise and hold deflector shield in upright position. • ° Place front of mulcher plate over front of mower deck opening and slide into place, as shown. Hook front latch into hole on front of mower deck.

Always wear safety glasses or eye shields while operating your tractor or performing any adjustments or repairs. We recommend a wide vision safety mask over the spectacles or standard safety glasses.
OPERATION TO OPERATE MOWER (See Fig. 9) Your tractor isequipped with an operatorpresence sensing switch_ Any attempt by the operator to leave the seat with the engine runningand the attachment clutchengaged wil! shut off the engine° ° To restart movement, slowly release parking brake and clutch/brake pedal ° Make all turns slowly. TO TRANSPORT • o Select desired height of cut. Lower mower with attachment lift control. • Raise attachment lift to highest position with attachment lift control.
OPERATI TO START ENGINE (See Fig. 8) When operating attachments, select a ground speed that will suit the terrain and give best performance of the attachment being used. When starting engine for the first time or ifengine has run out of fuel, it willtake extra crankingtime tOmove fuel from the tank to the engine° • Depress clutch/brake pedal and set parking brake. • Place gearshift lever in neutral (N) position. • Move attachment clutchto "DISENGAGED" position.

;ERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS i, ...... = TO ADJUST STEERING TO START ENGINE WITH A WEAK BATTERY (See Fig. 27) WHEEL ALIGNMENT if steering wheel crossbars are not horizontal (left to right) when wheels are positionedstraightforward,_removesteering wheel and reassemble per'instructions inthe Assembly section of this manual., CAUTION: Lead-acid batteries generateexplosive gases. Keepsparks, flame and smoking materials away from batteries. Always wear eye protection when around batteries.
