OPERATNON TO OPERATE MOWER (See Fig. 10) ° To restart movement, slowly release parking brake and clutch/brake pedal, o Make allturns slowly° Your tractor is equipped with an operator presence sensing switch. Any attempt by the operator to leave the seat with the engine running and the attachment clutch engaged will shut off the engine° TO TRANSPORT . Select desired height of cut, , ° Start mower blades by engaging attachment control. Raise attachment ment lift control.
OPEIRATNON TO START Do not mow grass when it i_ wet. Wet grass will plug mower and leave undesirable clumps. Allow grass to dry before mowing. ENGnNE (See Fig. 9) When starting the engine for the first time or if the engine has run out of fuel, it will take extra cranking time to move fuel from the tank to the engine. o Sit on seat in operating position, depress clutch/brake pedal and set parking brake. o o Place gear shift lever in neutral (N) position.

TRACTOR TO SHARPEN Always observe safety rules when performing any mainte- Care should be taken to keep the blade balanced_ An unbalanced blade wil! cause excessive vibration and eventual damage to mower and engine. Fiance° BRAKE OPERATION if tractor requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance at high speed in highest gear, then brake must be adjusted. All oil must meet API service classification SF, SG or SH, • Be sure tractor is on level surface.

CUSTOMER , CLEAN , i,,,,,,,,,, AIR SCREEN ,i , i RESPON i CLEAN AIR INTAKE/COOLING (See Fig. 16) Every '100 hours of operation (more often under extremely dusty, dirty conditions), remove the blower housing and other cooling shrouds. Clean the cooling fins and external surfaces as necessary. Make sure the cooling shrouds are reinstalled, (See Fig. 16) Your engine will not run properly using a dirty air filter.

Depress clutch/brake fully(N)and set parking brake. Place attachment clutch in "DISENGAGED" position. Turn ignition key "OFF" and remove key. Make sure the blades and all moving parts have completely stopped. Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug and place wire where it cannot come in contact with plug.
