change oilforeasierstarting(See "OIL
VISCOSITY CHART"inthe Mainte-
nancesectionofthis manual).

O START ENGINE
Vhenstartingthe engineforthe first time

• Move attachmentdutch to "DISEN-
GAGED"position.
• Move throttlecontrolto chokeposition.
NOTE: Beforestarting,readthewarm and
coldstartingproceduresbelow.
• Insertkey intoignition and turn key
clockwiseto "START"positionand
release keyas soonas enginestarts.
Do not runstarter continuouslyformore
thanf'dteensedondsper minute.If the
enginedoesnotstartafter several
attempts,movethrottle controlto fast
position,wait a few minutesand try
again. If enginestilldoes notstart,
move the throttle controlback to the
chokepositionand retry.
WARM WEATHER STARTING (,50_ F and
above)
• When enginestarts, move the throttle
controlto the fast position.
• The attachmentsand groundddvecan
nowbe used. If the enginedoes not
acceptthe load,restartthe engineand
allowit towarm upfor one minute using
the chokeas describedabove.
COLD WEATHER STARTING( 50° F and
below)
When enginestarts,allowenginetorun
withthethrottlecontrolin the choke
positionuntilthe engine runsroughly,
then movethrottle control to fast posi-
tion.This may requirean enginewarm-
uppedodfromseveralsecondsto sev-
eral minutes,dependingonthe temper-
ature.
AUTOMATICTRANSMISSION WARM UP
• Beforedrivingthe unitin coldweather,
the transmissionshouldbe warmedup
as follows:
Be surethe tractoris on level(jround.
•" Place the motion controllever,n neutral.
Releasethe parkingbrakeand let the
clutch/brakeslowlyreturnto operating
position.
• Allowone minutefor transmissionto
warm up.This can be donedudngthe
enginewarm up period.
• The attachmentscanalsobe used dur-
ingthe enginewarm-upperiod afterthe
transmissionhas been warmedup.
