TO REPLACE MOWER DRIVE BELT
MOWER DRIVE BELT REMOVAL (See Fig_ 25)
• Park tractor on a level surface. Engage parking brake.

TO REPLACE MOWER BLADE DRIVE BELT
(See Fig. 26)
Park the tractor on level surface_ Engage parking brake°
Disengage attachment crutch contro}
• Remove four screws from L.H. mandrel cover and
remove cover.
• Roll belt over the top of L_H. mandrel pulley.
, Remove belt from engine puttey_
o Remove belt from idler pulleys.
° Remove any dirt or' grass clippings which may have
accumulated around mandrels and entire upper deck
surface.
= Check primary idler arm and two idlers to see that they
rotate freely.
MOWER DRIVE BELT INSTALLATION (See Fig. 25) -
o Install belt in both idlers. Make sure belt is in both belt
keepers at the idlers as shown..
, Install new be_t onto engine pulley.
o Rolt belt into upper groove of L°H. mandrel pulley_
° Carefully check belt routing making sure belt is in the
grooves correctly and inside belt keepers.
o Reassemble L.H. mandrel cover.

• Remove mower drive belt (See'TO REPLACE MOWER
DRIVE BELT" in this section of this manua!).
= Remove mower (See "TO REMOVE MOWER" in this
section of this manual)°
. Remove four screws from R H. mandrel cover and
remove cover
= Disconnect secondary clutch rod from pivot rod by
removing retainer spring.
o Carefully roll belt off R H. mandrel pulley°
° Remove belt from center mandrel pulley, idler pulley,
and L.H mandrel pulley
. Remove any dirt or grass which may have accumu-
lated around mandrels and entire upper deck surfacer
= Check secondary idler arm and idler to see that they
rotate freely
= Be sure spring is hooked in secondary idler arm and
sway-bar bracket.
. Install new belt in lower groove of L H mandrel pulley,
idler pulley, and center mandrel pulley as shown.
- Roll belt over R_H mandrel pulley Make sure bett is in
all grooves properly.
- Reconnect secondary clutch rod to pivot rod with
retainer springy
• Reinstall RHo mandrel cover
• Reinstall mower to tractor (See "INSTALL MOWER
AND DRIVE BELT" in the Assembly section of this
manual)
• Reassemble mower drive belt (See "TO REPLACE
MOWER DRWE BELT" in this section of this manua0_
