YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
MTDConsumerGroupInc,the UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency (EPA),and, forthose productscertifiedfor sale in the stateof California,the
CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoard(CARB)are pleasedto explainthe emission(evaporativeand/or exhaust)controlsystem(ECS) warrantyonyouroutdoor2006
andlater smalloff-roadspark-ignitedengineandequipment(outdoorequipmentengine)InCalifornia,new outdoorequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,builtand
equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards(inotherstates, 1997andlater modelyear equipmentmustbe designed,built,and equippedto meet
theU.S. EPAsmalloff-road, sparkignitionengineregulations.MTDConsumerGroupInc mustwarrantthe ECSonyour outdoorequipmentenginefor the periodof
timelisted belowprovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof outdoorequipmentengine.
YourECSmayincludeparts such as thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuel caps,valves,canisters,
filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Wherea warrantableconditionexists, MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipmentengineatnocostto youincludingdiagnosis,partsand labor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemis warrantedfor two years. If anyemission-relatedpart onyour outdoorequipmentengineisdefective,the partwill berepairedor
replacedby MTDCONSUMERGROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelisted inyour owner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroup
Inc recommendsthat youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceon youroutdoorequipmentengine,butMTDConsumerGroupInc cannotdeny warrantysolely
forthe lackof receipts.
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc maydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour outdoorequipment
engineor a part hasfaileddue to abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyouroutdoorequipmentengineto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenterorservicecenteras soon asthe problem
exists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountoftime, notto exceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,
youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncService Departmentat 1-800-800-7310orvia emailat http://support.mtdproducts.com
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat theoutdoorequipmentengineis: Designed,built and equipped
so asto conformwithall applicableregulations;and freefromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureof a warrantedpart to be identicalin all
materialrespectstothat partas describedin MTDConsumerGroup Inc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedate theoutdoorequipmentengineis deliveredto an ultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodis two
years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsasstated below,the warrantyonemission-relatedparts is asfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat isnotscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssupplied,is warrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe part fails duringthe periodof warrantycoverage,thepart will berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupInc accordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbe warrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledonly for regularinspectionin the writteninstructionssupplied is warrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Any such
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssuppliedis warrantedfor the periodof timebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the part will berepairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupInc accordingto subsection(4)below.Any suchpartrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderof the periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementof any warrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedat a warrantystationat no chargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill be providedat allof our distributioncentersthatare franchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Theoutdoorequipmentengineownerwill notbe chargedfor diagnosticlaborthat is directlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwar-
rantedpart, providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc is liablefor damagesto otherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failure underwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe off-roadengineand equipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupInc will maintaina supplyof warrantedparts sufficientto
meetthe expecteddemandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpart maybe usedinthe performanceof any warrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbeprovidedwithoutchargeto the owner.Suchuse will
notreducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmaynot beused.The useof any non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsby the
ultimatepurchaserwill be groundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbe liabletowarrantfailuresof warrantedparts caused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
