TOINSTALLROUTER

Unptugthe router.
Placeyourrouter upsidedown ona workbench.
Remove the subbase screwsand the subbasefrom
yourrouter.
NOTE: The subbase ismounted permanentlyonsome
routereand should not be removed.
Selectthescrewsneeded for yourparticularrouter.For
consumerreuters, use the 10-32 x 3/4 in. screws.For
eommerc'la_Pouters,usethe 5/16-18 screws.
Positionrouterupside down underthe routerextension
tabie. The routerlabel should be facingthe front ofthe
table.
Atignthe holesin the tablewith the holes inyourrouter.
Feed the screwsthroughthe table and intothe router.
Tightenallscrewswith a screwdriver.
Selectthe correctsizethroat platefor the sizeof the
routerbit.Alignthetab on the throat platewith theslot
in themuter extension and snap inplace. Make sure
thethroat plateis firmly seated belowthe_able surface.
Recheck the router bit to make sureit will not s_ke the
throat plate.
FINAL PREPARATION FOR OPERATION

Adjustthe guard/dustcover so that it willnotcorns in
conta_ with the workplaceor cutter duringa cutting
operation.

TO INSTALL BIT AND THROAT PLATE
The routerthroat plates are includedto assure nomore
than1/4 in.eisarancebetween the cutter and the opening
in the throat plate. Use the correct throat plate.Do not use
a routerbitsmallerthan I/4 in, or largerthan2 in.
To installthe routerbit,fotlow the instructionsinthe
operator'smanua_that camewith yourrouter.
_" CAIN: Make sure the router bitwillnot strike
theaccessory table orany metal surface.

The Infeed fenceshouldbe adjustedto supportthe

passesthe routerbit, compensatingfor the removed
stock.
