Measurements in relation to one
another
NOTICE!
Adding up the measurements for water,
fat and muscle percentage does not make
sense because a portion of the body water is
stored in muscle.
In general, only long-term changes to measurements
are really conclusive. The individual results must also be
considered in relation to one another. This leads to three
fundamental aspects:
Change to the total weight,
Change to body fat, body water and muscle percent-
age,
Period during which these changes occur.
The periods are divided into:
Short-term Changes within days
Medium-term Changes within weeks
Long-term Changes within months
Short-term fluctuations in weight are primarily attribut-
ed to changes in the water percentage as the percent-
age of fat and muscle only change over the medium or
long-term.
