Managing Broadcast and Zone modes 16
Grouping Zones
Zones can be grouped together and share the same play queue. Each group can have its own
play queue. This lets you play songs to only some of your receivers simultaneously. For
example, you can group the kitchen and dining room together for classical music, and group
the living room and the bedroom for rock music.
Using Creative Music Server
1 Select a zone which contains the desired primary play queue. In the example below, it is the
Local zone.
2 Click the inactive Link icon of the zone (Bedroom) that you wish to group with the currently
selected zone. These two zones will grouped as shown below. To ungroup a zone, click the
active Link icon of the zone you wish to remove from the currently selected group.
Using the Controller
1 On the Home screen, tap the Link icon.
2 Tap the zones you wish to group.
3 Tap Done when you have completed your selection.
NOTE
Usually, third party applications and web browsers can play audio to one zone/receiver
only at any one time. If you want to play the audio from these sources to more than one
zone/receiver simultaneously, use Creative Music Server or the Controller to group the
receivers/zones. For example, if your internet radio is currently playing audio to
receiver/zone 1 and you also want the audio to be played to receiver/zone 2, use
Creative Music Server or the Controller to group receiver/zone 2 to receiver/zone 1.
