4 - E-MU 0404 PCIe Card
The E-MU 0404 PCIe card is the heart of the system and contains E-MU’s powerful E-DSP chip. The hardware DSP on this
card leaves more power free on your CPU for additional software plug-ins and other tasks.

Connectors
Connect the Analog Breakout Cable to the PCIe Card.
Connect the supplied 1/4” jack breakout cable to the analog
connections of your audio system or mixer. See the diagrams
on the following pages.
The outputs are not designed to drive headphones directly. Use
a headphone amp or the headphone out of your receiver or
mixer.

Audio & MIDI
Connectors
Connect the Digital Breakout Cable to the PCIe card. The cable provides
MIDI in /out, and S/PDIF in/out.
MIDI input and output ports allow you to connect any type of
MIDI equipment, such as a keyboard, effect unit, drum or guitar
controller. The MIDI drivers were installed when you installed
PatchMix and the MIDI ports will appear in your PC System
Control Panel under “Sounds and Audio Devices.”
S/PDIF provides 2 channels of 24-bit audio in and out via the
RCA coaxial connectors or TOSLINK optical connectors on the
Digital Breakout Cable. Connect to digital devices, such as a
digital mixer, digital-to-analog converter, or an effect device.
The optical S/PDIF and RCA coaxial S/PDIF inputs CANNOT be
used simultaneously, however both S/PDIF outputs CAN be
simultaneously used (carrying the same signal).
