Cabinet Bed
Treat the cabinet as you would any piece of fine, wooden furniture. Dust with a dry or slightly damp
cloth as needed. Do not leave wet items on furniture. Keep away from heating elements.
To use:
Do not lower the front panel first. This can damage the cabinet.
Always open the drawer first. The drawer and the extension runners form the base of the bed.
Next open the flip top and release the slide bolts on either side. Lower the front panel onto the felt
covered runners. Then fold out the extension flap/panel. Pull out the mattress.
Do not try to put away with bulky items stuffed inside the cabinet. Use the drawer for such items as
pillows, mattress toppers and blankets.
Mattress:
Use a water proof mattress cover to prevent damage to mattress. It is recommended to spot clean
the mattress cover with a damp cloth using ammonia or mild detergent solution. Avoid getting the
mattess wet. It is possible to remove the mattress cover and wash in cold or warm water on delicate
cycle and line dry. Use care when putting cover back on to avoid breaking the zippers. However, it is
Not recommended to remove cover.
Carpeted areas:
If using the cabinet in a room with carpet be sure to extend the levelers. This will raise the cabinet up
out of the carpet. If the drawer is pulling hard, opening up the levelers will help. See step three on the
assembly instructions.
Moving from room to room:
Do not push the cabinet from sided to side to move it. This can damage the runners. To move slip a
plastic or felt disc under each corner of the drawer. These are advertised on TV and sold at hardware
stores.
Moving from house to house:
Do not ship the cabinet bed with the drawer attached and underneath the upper cabinet. The bounc-
ing of the truck can damage the wheels and runners. Remover the drawer, keep the bolts in baggie and
taped to the drawer or other safe place. Stretch wrap around the drawer to keep it from sliding open
and ship on its back. If its not too heavy, keep the mattress in the upper cabinet, blanket wrap and
stretch wrap around that to keep the upper cabinet from getting damaged.
If it is necessary to break the cabinet bed down to make it lighter to move do the following:
Take out the mattress put in a plastic bag to protect it. This will lighten the upper cabinet by about 50
lbs. To further lighten the cabinet the front fold out panel can be removed by unfastening the piano
hinge from the floor of the upper cabinet. This will make the upper cabinet much lighter to carry.
Stretch wrap around the front panel and the fold out flap to keep it together. This is an awkward part
to carry since it is hinged and can unfold.
