SELECTION MODE
Compilation albums offer an interesting ‘twist’ when browsing through your library of music, because the artists can vary
from track to track on a given album. So once again you can create a browse path by selecting an artist (i.e., Nat King Cole)
and compilation album (i.e., Pottery Barn Dinner at Eight), as shown below.
Select the Options ‘jump to’ button and notice that there are two ‘Selection Mode’ options available: Track and Album. Since
Album is the default, the resultant page (shown above) shows every track on the selected album even though some of the
artists do not match the browse path constraints of ‘Artist: Nat King Cole’. If you wish to narrow your selection so that it
truly ts the browse path, select the Track button under ‘Selection Mode’. The result, shown below, is a music browser list
that truly ts the browse path.
The ‘Sort Tracks By’ option organizes the items in the music browser by Number, Name, Album, or Artist (button availability
depends on whether you are browsing albums or tracks). The tracks listed in the example of the music browser shown above
are sorted by number.
