Crestron C2N-MMS Professional Multimedia Switch Professional Multimedia Switch: C2N-MMS Introduction Features and Functions The Crestron® Professional Multimedia Switch C2N-MMS is a high performance multimedia switch that can switch four RGB sources to two RGB devices and three video sources to two video devices. With the optional C2N-MMS-SC scan converter card, the RGB sources can also be switched to the video devices.
Professional Multimedia Switch Crestron C2N-MMS coax cables of longer lengths (50 to 100 feet). The C2N-MMS automatically detects the presence of video and RGB signals by monitoring activity on the luminance (COMP/Y) connection of each video input and the horizontal sync line of each RGB input.

Professional Multimedia Switch Crestron C2N-MMS installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
Crestron C2N-MMS Professional Multimedia Switch NOTE: When daisy-chaining Cresnet units, strip the ends of the wires carefully to avoid nicking the conductors. Twist together the ends of the wires that share a pin on the network connector, and tin the twisted connection. Apply solder only to the ends of the twisted wires. Avoid tinning too far up the wires or the end becomes brittle. Insert the tinned connection into the Cresnet connector and tighten the retaining screw.
Professional Multimedia Switch Crestron C2N-MMS The Crestron Toolbox provides several methods to easily set or change device Net IDs for any device on the network. The following method permits you to change the Net ID of any device in the network through the “Network Device Tree” window. NOTE: This method prevents you from selecting an existing Net ID that is assigned to a device that is not equipped with TSID.
Crestron C2N-MMS Professional Multimedia Switch 5. Select a new Net ID and press Enter. Enter New Net ID Repeat this procedure for each additional network device requiring a Net ID change. Hardware Hookup The C2N-MMS can be mounted in a rack or stacked with other equipment. Make the necessary connections as called out in the illustration that follows this paragraph. Refer to “Network Wiring” on page 8 before attaching the 4-position terminal block connector.
Professional Multimedia Switch Crestron C2N-MMS The sync input impedance can be set to either 1k, 500, or 75 ohms. The setting from the factory is 1k ohms and should work with most RGB sources. If the signal quality is poor, lowering the input impedance to match the impedance of coax cable may alleviate sync signal problems that are associated with RGB cables greater than the typical VESA standard (typically six feet).
Crestron C2N-MMS Professional Multimedia Switch Setting the DIP Switches 1. Referring to the following table, set the DIP switches to the required sync input impedance and DDC functionality of each RGB input port.
Professional Multimedia Switch Crestron C2N-MMS Rack Mounting WARNING: To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing this unit in a rack, take special precautions to ensure that the system remains stable. The following guidelines are provided to ensure your safety: • • • The unit should be mounted at the bottom of the rack if it is the only unit in the rack.
