6 Aiming and Firing Safely
A. Aiming the Airgun
•AlwayspointyourairguninaSAFEDIRECTION.
•Youandotherswithyoushouldalwayswearshootingglassestoprotectyoureyes.
•Donotshootathardsurfacesoratthesurfaceofwater.TheBBorpelletmaybounceoffor
ricochetandhitsomeoneorsomethingyouhadnotintendedtohit.
•Alwayschooseyourtargetcarefully.Forexample,youmaywishtoshootatpaperbullseye
targetsthatareattachedtoasafebackstopsuchastheCrosman0852PelletTrap(available
atcrosman.com).Aheavyblanketshouldbehungbehindthepellettraptopreventricochet
shouldyoumissthebackstop.
•Yourairgunisdesignedfortargetshootingandissuitedforbothindoorandoutdooruse.Always
remembertoplaceyourtargetcarefully.THINKaboutwhatyouwillhitifyoumissthetarget.
•Followtheinstructionsforpumping(Section3)andloadingBB(Section4A)orpellets(Section5A).
•Theairguniscorrectlyaimedwhenthefrontsightbladeispositionedexactlyinthecenterofthe
apertureoftherearsight.Thetopofthefrontsightbladeshouldbeevenwiththetopofthe
apertureintherearsight.
Thebulls-eyeshouldappeartorestonthetopofthefrontsight.(Fig.9)
•Whenyouaresureofyourtargetandbackstop,andtheareaaroundthetargetisclear,takethe
airgun“OFFSAFE”(Seesection2B)andpullthetriggertore.
Note:Youmustfollowtheprocedureforpumping,loadingandringyourairguneachtimeyoushoot.
B. Sight Adjustment
•Thisairguncomeswithanadjustablerearsightforwindage(leftorrightmovement)(Fig.10A).You
canadjusttherearsightbyturningthesmallscrewattachedtothedualaperturetothedesireddirec-
tion.Uselargeapertureformovingorlargetargetsandthesmallapertureforstationaryandbulls-eye
targets.(Fig.10B)Tochangeaperturesize,simplypushthedesiredsizetothetop.
•Thefrontsightisadjustableforelevation.Usethetoolsuppliedinthestoragemagazinetoadjustthe
frontsightupordownbyturningclockwiseorcounterclockwise.(Fig.11)
ADJUSTING THE STOCK
•Yourairgunisshippedwiththestockintheclosedpositionandiscapableofadjustingto
differentlengths.
•Beforeadjustingthestockmakesureyourairgunis“ONSAFE”,(seesection2A)andpointedina
SAFEDIRECTION.
•Pushthestockreleaseleverandadjustthestockuntilitlocksintothedesiredposition.
7. Removing a Jammed BB or Pellet
•Donotreloadtheairgun.
•Puttheairgun“ONSAFE”.
•PointtheairguninaSAFEDIRECTION.
•IfshootingBBs,unloadtheBBsfromthevisualmagazine(SeeStep4B).
•Withtheairgun“ONSAFE”,opentheboltbypullingitallthewayback.
•WhilepointinginSAFEDIRECTION,holdthegunintheposition
showninFigure12.
•Inserta.177caliberramrod(notincluded)intothebarrelandcare-
fullypushthejammedBBorpelletoutofthegun.Donottryto
reusetheBBorpellet.
•Ifyouareunabletounjamyourairgunbyfollowingthisprocedure,
takenofurtheractionandcontactanAuthorizedServiceStation
forfurtherassistanceandservice.
8. Maintaining Your Airgun
•Beforeyouattempttooilyourairgun,makesurethegunis“ON
SAFE”,unloadedandtheairhasbeenremoved(seeSection4Band5B).
•Yourairgunwillmaintainproperfunctionlongerifyouoilitevery250

•DONOTMODIFYORALTERYOURAIRGUN.Attemptstomodifythe
airguninanywayinconsistentwiththismanualmaymakeyourairgun
unsafetouse,causeseriousinjuryordeath,andwillvoidthewarranty.
•Ifyoudropyourairgun,visuallychecktoseethatnodamagehas
occurredtothegun.Ifanythingseemschanged,likeashorteror

9. Attaching Accessories
A. Attaching a Scope (not included)
Thisairgunhasanintegratedtoprailthatispicatinny/weavercompatibleforattachmentof
aftermarketsights,includingscopeswithpicatinny/weaverrings.Adjusttheringsonyour
scopetomatchthemeasurementsofthetoprail.Thenadjustthescopeforyourdesiredeye
relief.Thentightenthehandknoborscrewtomaketheringssecuretothetoprail.
DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN THE RING TO THE TOP RAIL.Overtighteningtheringontheplastic
railwillcausestressdamagetotheplasticandmaydeformthetoprail.
B. Attaching a Sling (not included)
•Thisairriehastwoslingloopslots.Oneslotisinthestockandtheotherisunderthe
frontsightaboveandbelowthebarrel.
•Toattachtheslingatbothendspushthesewnwebbingloopendthroughtheslotandpulltight.Toremovethesling,foldthe
webbingtoitssmallestsizeandpushbackthroughtheslotuntilthewebbingcomesfree.

2. Operating the Cross Block Safety
ThewordsPRESSFIREandPRESSSAFEareonthetopofthetriggerguard.The
PRESSFIREandPRESSSAFEindicatethesafetyconditionwhenpressedush
withthetriggerguard(Fig.2).
A. To Put the Airgun “ON SAFE”:
•Locatethesafetydirectlyinfrontofthetrigger.
•ThesafetyisONandtheairgunis“ONSAFE”whenthesafetybuttonis
pushedfromthelefttotheright(NoRedShowing)(Fig.1A).
B.To Take the Airgun “OFF SAFE”:
•ThesafetyisOFFandtheairgunis“OFFSAFE”whenthesafetybuttonis
pushedfromtherighttotheleft(RedShowing)(Fig.1B).
•Whentheairgunis“OFFSAFE,”thetriggercanbepulledandtheairguncanberedifitischarged(lled)andloaded.
Likeallmechanicaldevices,anairgunsafetycanfail.Evenwhenthesafetyis“ONSAFE”,youshouldcontinuetohandletheairgun
safely.NEVERpointtheairgunatanyperson.NEVERpointtheairgunatanythingyoudonotintendtoshoot.
3. Pumping the Airgun
WARNING:
Always hold the forearm rmly when pumping the airgun. Failure to grip the forearm rmly while pumping
the airgun may cause the forearm to spring back into the closed position and may result in injury.
WARNING:
Never pump your airgun more than 10 times. Overpumping may leave a small amount of air in the airgun
after it is red and may allow the user to re a second shot without additional pumping. Failure to follow these instructions
may result in serious injury or death.
CAUTION:Neverpumpyourairgunmorethan10times.Overpumpingcancausemajordamage
toyourairgun.
Note:Youmustfollowtheproceduredescribedbelowforpumping,loadingandringyourairgun
eachtimeyoushoot.
•Puttheairgun“ONSAFE”.(SeeStep2A)
•PlaceyourhandsinthesamepositionsshowninFig.2.Improperhandplacementmayresultin
pinchingifyouloseholdoftheforearmandmayresultininjury.
•Firmlygriptheforearmandopenitallthewayuntilitstopsandthen,withasmoothstroke,
returntheforearmtoitsoriginalclosedpostion.(Fig.3)
•Usestraightstrokeswhilepumpingtheairgun.Twistingtheforearmwhilepumpingmaycause
theforearmtobreak.
•Makesuretouseatleastthreepumps(butnomorethan10)topreventapelletfromjamminginthe
barrelafterring.
Reminder: You must follow the procedure described above for pumping, loading
and ring your airgun for each shot.
4. Loading and Unloading BBs
YourairgunwasdesignedtoworkwithCrosmanbrandedammunition.TheseincludeCROSMAN,
COPPERHEAD,andBENJAMIN.Useofotherammunitionmaycauseyourguntomalfunction.
A. Loading BBs
•Puttheairgun“ONSAFE”(SeeStep2A).
•PointtheairguninaSAFEDIRECTION.
•LocatetheBBloadingportontheleftsideofthe
receiver(Fig.4).
•Slidetheloadingportcovertowardtherearoftheairgun.
•Pournomorethan350BBsintothehole.
Fill the reservoir with BBs only. Use of Pel-
lets will jam the reservoir.
•Closetheloadingportcover.
•PulltheBBretainerbuttonback(Fig.5).
•Pointthebarrelstraightdown.
•Withahandtwistingmotion,shakeandtwisttheairgun(SeeFig.6)tollthevisualmagazine.
•PushtheBBretainerbuttonforwardtokeeptheBBsinthemagazine.
•Positionthe
EMPTYpelletclipsothattheboltwillfeedthroughoneofthepelletchambers.
•Withthebarreltilteddownward,cocktheboltbypullingitallthewayback(twoclicks)andthen
pushingitallthewayforward.ThemagneticboltwillpickupaBB.(Asyoupushtheboltforward
slowly,youcanseetheBBmovethroughthepelletclip).
•TheBBisnowinpositiontoberedoutofthebarrelafterreadingandfollowingsection6on
aimingandringsafely.
Note:BBswillnottransferfromthemagazinetothebarreliftheairgunistiltedupward.
B. Unloading BBs by Firing
•Puttheairgun“ONSAFE”(SeeStep2A).
•PulltheBBretainerbuttonback(Fig.5).
•Tiltthebarrelupward.
•Withahandtwistingmotion,shakeandtwisttheairgununtilALLoftheBBsareoutofthe
visualmagazine.
•PushtheBBretainerbuttonforwardtoblockBBsfromthevisualmagazine.(Fig.5)
•Tilttheairgun(barreldownward),pointinginaSAFEDIRECTION.
•Pulltheboltallthewayback(twoclicks)andthenslowlyforwardlookingtoseeifthereisaBBon
themagneticbolt.
•Ifyourairgunisnotpumped,followsection3onpumpingyourairgun.
•PointtheairguninaSAFEDIRECTION;take“OFFSAFE”(SeeStep2B)andre.Thiswill
unloadtheBBfromthemagneticbolt.
•RepeatthisunloadingprocedureuntilnoBBsarevisibleonthemagneticbolt.
REMEMBER:BBswillnottransferfromthemagazinetothebarreliftheairgunistiltedupward.
ToremoveBBsfromreservoir-openloadingportcover,turngunsotheholeisfacingdownand
shakethegununtilyounolongerhearBBsinthereservoir.
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS TREAT YOUR AIRGUN AS IF IT IS LOADED.
5. Loading and Unloading Pellets

A. Loading Pellets
•UnloadalloftheBBsfromtheairgun(SeeStep4B)FailuretounloadBBsbeforeloadingapel-
letmaycausetheairguntojam.
•Puttheairgun“ONSAFE”(SeeStep2A).
•PointtheairguninaSAFEDIRECTION.
•Placeapellet(noserst),ineachofthevepelletchambers(Fig.7).
IMPORTANT:Toavoidjamsordeformingpellets,makesureeachpelletskirtislevelorslightly
belowtherimofthepelletchamber.
•Pulltheboltallthewayback.
•Placethepelletclipintothegunasshowningure8,makingsuretolineuponeofthepellet
chamberswiththebarrelchamber.
IMPORTANT:Ifthepelletclipisnotlinedupproperly,youwillnotbeabletopushtheboltforward.
•Pushtheboltallthewayforward.Thepelletisnowinapositiontoreoutofthebarrelafter
readingandfollowingsection6onaimingandringsafely.
B. Unloading Pellets
•Puttheairgun“ONSAFE”(SeeStep2A).
•Removethepelletclip(SeeStep5A).
•Usearamrod(notincluded)togentlypusheachpelletoutoftheclip.
IMPORTANT:Neverusesharpmetaltoolstoremovepellets.
•Laytheclipaside.
•Withtheairgun“ONSAFE”(SeeStep2A),pumptheairgunthreetimes(SeeStep3)andcock
theboltbypullingitallthewaybackandpushingitforward.
•Taketheairgun“OFFSAFE”(SeeStep2B),pointtheairguninaSAFEDIRECTIONandpullthe
triggertore.
•Puttheairgun“ONSAFE”.
•AnotherwayofunloadingtheairgunistofollowthedirectionslistedunderStep7-Removinga
JammedBBorPellet.
•Puttheemptyclipbackinyourairgun.
