Add dry material to approximately ¾ gallon of clean
water with ½ gallon of Crossco Acryl –B60. Mix with
a paddle mixer attached to a high torque ½” drill
(650-1000) rpm for 2-3 minutes. Mix only the
amount that can be applied in 15 minutes. For
optimum application, the mix temperature should
be 60-90° F at time of placement. The use of cold
water in high temperatures and warm water in cold
temperatures will help adjust mix temperature.
Porous surfaces and old concrete may require
primer for better adhesion. CROSSCO Patch
Bonding Agent should be applied to ensure
adequate adhesion. Do not allow patch to dry
completely, make sure patch to be tacky before
applying Self Leveling Underlayment.
GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION
MIXING
SURFACE PREPARATION
Floors must be solid, structurally sound and free
from excessive movement. Floor must be free of all
dirt, oil, grease, paints, sealers or any other element
that would interfere with bonding. Some concrete
surfaces may require mechanical profiling by shot
blasting or scarifying. Allow to cure for several
hours before applying Self Leveling Underlayment.
Do not bridge over existing expansion joints. When
pouring on a concrete slab on grade, a vapor barrier
such as polyethylene is recommended.
The substrate temperature should be between 40°
and 90° F. Close windows and doors to minimize air
flow. Divide the area into sections to permit
continuous pours without cold joints. Pour material
in a continuous stripe about 1 foot in width across
the narrow section of the floor. Pour the next bag
adjacent to the first pour . Continue successive
pours in this manner until floor is covered. Do not
trowel. A gauge rake should be used to insure
proper and even thickness of the Self Leveling
Underlayment. Material can be poured up to 1” in
thickness. The material does not self-level as water
would. It flows well but must be raked or pulled
over the floor at the required depth. When pouring
into itself it should be raked and smoothed to
ensure a flat surface.
